Maybe you remember one of the first polls I have asked at the beginning of this year, where I was asking what papercrafts my watchers would like me to do. As you maybe remember that poll, some of the voted for anime characters I have already made and fulfilled my promise to make them into papercrafts. But there was also an anime in that poll that was also quite high on the agenda, since a lot of people voted for it, and that was the anime: Hataraku Saibou / Cells at Work! Although the second season and the movie were postponed to 2021 next year, it’s still a very popular anime till this day. And especially because I don’t like to leave things half-done and I try to keep all my promises, I made the 3 main characters into papercrafts. So here you go! :)
Probably the coolest and most amazing character out of the whole “Cells at work” bunch is “Hakkekkyuu” or “White Blood Cell”. Why? Well first, because my boyfriend actually cosplayed him along with me as Sekkekkyuu at Makkon (the biggest anime event in my country) and made the whole costume and everything by himself, that’s why he is so dear to me. The second obvious reason is his attitude and character in the anime. He is super sweet and adorable, but when a virus attacks the system, all hell breaks loose and he turns into a sadistic killing machine, and it’s just so funny XDDDD Love it.
The papercraft unfold itself is unfolded to 34 cm (because he is the biggest out of the bunch and has his circle signal thing on his cap as well) and has 8 pages to print. He is made out of a 3D attached body, 4 separate and simple 3D knives, his typical hat and some simple add-ons such as his straps for the knives, etc. The pose is somewhat simple and he holds the knives in his hands, so the weight is at the center of his body and will not fall over, so he stands even without reinforcement or weights inside.
The special thing about this amazingly cool guy is, that I had, absolutely HAD, to make him in 2 different textures, so both are included in the template. First one is the normal white texture, second is the blood splattered texture he has when he is fighting against enemy viruses with his knives. So, you can choose whichever you prefer of the them, or make 2 separate Hakkekkyuus, as you wish.
Also, as with all of my latest anime girl papercrafts, the base model is simple to make and is now adjusted to also work with male human papercrafts. The principle is same for all of them. Not only does he have just the right amount of polygons to still look anime-like and be simple enough to make into a built craft, he also has a functional hole in the head (where you can’t see it when built, beneath his hair), which is used to make the head assembly super simple, since you have a big hole to use to make the head and attach the hair in a super neat way. So, except for the somewhat fiddly fingers and maybe the knives (of which only the grips are actually boxy 3D and the blades 2D 2-sided parts that you just glue on the holder) he should be quite easy to glue together.
***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***
I hope you like the cool and at the same time sadistic white blood cell and make your own soon ;)
