Riko (Made in Abyss) built papercraft

Already released the Riko (Made in Abyss) papercraft template, which you can find here:

And now it's time for the assembly preview and the built itself :)

As always, start with the head by making the face + neck, and then the back of the hair. Once you have that, make the 2 pigtails separate and glue them inside the remaining holes and glue it firmly (in this step you can also put in some rolled-up paper parts inside the hole and the pigtail so it holds better and it doesn’t snap off, just to reinforce it. And at the end, glue on the explorer hat and close it at the top with the last piece. Head, done.

Next move to the 2 gloves, 2 hands and the jacket (with the top torso part that is attached to the jacket and build all of these separately. And when you have these, just simply glue them together at the right angle with the remaining flaps, and assemble the arms with the jacket part as simple as that. Arms + torso, done.

All you got left are now the inner torso part and the legs. Start this by assembling the 2 shoes separately, and then the legs, building from bottom to top, until you got the whole body done. Once the legs with the inner torso are done, glue the inner torso to the upper part you already did, the jacket. It should fit nicely at the front, and make sure the flaps all fit inside (the backside of the jacket and torso coming together isn’t visible at the end anyway, so you can safely just glue those separate parts together to make it really easier with the assembly). Whole body, done.

Next, glue on the remaining shoes you did at the right angle onto the leg flaps (and add some weights in for extra stand support if needed), and Riko is done as well. All that is left are the smaller details you left out, such as the belt, the climbing gear in the front, the lamp on the hat and her 3D red whistle.

*Pro-tip 1: I left out the 2D rope part of the whistle and attached it on a real thread, so it looks more natural. It looks even better with a slightly thicker thread if you have it, and a brown-color as well, so try that out and have some fun with it :)

*Pro-tip 2: I also cut out the 2D lens part of the glasses and glued see-through foil you can get from any food packaging or those folder maps to make it more real-glass like. Really makes the papercraft pop-out with these extra “gimmicks” to you switch out on a papercraft model.

***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***

All these tips and assembly instructions become clearer when you buy the template and get the corresponding PDO file that let’s you know how to make it and shows it to you in 3D, so no worries. Once you assemble it yourself and need a tip or 2, you can read my notes on here to get a better idea on how to make it simpler and faster, that’s why I am writing these anyway.

Hope you like her, and that we get that new season and game soon as well! (You can find the game and when it’s coming out on Steam btw.) Sooo hyped for the game!!! Can’t wait XD

Enjoy and happy crafting~
