Sakuyamon (Digimon) papercraft

 

 I have made quite a few Digimon papercrafts in these years, because I love the concept and I loved the anime as a child as well. Fell in love with the first series and never looked back. Hook, line and sinker. But what really made me a super fan in these last few months and I really wanted to get into some new amazing papercrafts, was the new game »Digimon: Time Strangers« that is just soooo amazing! I love the ridable feature, I love the story, I love the new redesigns and details on existing Digimon, I love the lore and holy Digimon, I love the easy upgrade system with learnable and detachable attacks, it's just such an awesome RPG! (POKEMON, TAKE A NOTE MF!!!)

And, since this one is easily the most awesome and cool-looking warrior goddess in the series for me personally, and I already did Angewomon, I also had to make her as well. And here she is: my Sakuyamon papercraft

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 30 cm (about 22 cm height for Sakuyamon without staff and stand) and has 15 pages to print out.

The papercraft has a 3D model of Sakuyamon, with simple-ish yet still 3D staff, 3D back wings, 2 3D hair tails, various 2D add-ons such as belts, optional simple 2D or 3D hands, and a 3D stand with a lot of 2D sakura cerryblossoms.

*I also did a small sneak peek of the face I did for her, since the mask armor I made is detachable, so you can put the mask on with magnets to attach/detach it as well!

*NOTE: The papercraft is very difficult to put together!

The 2 long hair tails are both 3D, heavy and with optional strads of hair, so those need to be reinforced with wire or curled-up paper on the inside, or tape on the inside. The wings in the back are also 3D and separate, so those can either be glued on or made with attachable/detachable magnets.

The mask armor on her face is a separate piece and is meant to be attached with a magnet. You glue one magnet on the inner side of her face, and one magnet on the inner side of the mask, so it can be detached and attached later on.

The way she leans and stands, the legs also need to be additionally glued on and held in place with wire, so she doesn’t tip over, because she is very top-heavy with the hair. All in all, some parts need additional attaching so they don’t snap off, so I do suggest the assembly for experienced papercrafters only.

Those of you playing the Time Strangers game surely know Sakuyamon is one of the coolest-looking female based Digimon in the game that I personally LOVED having in my team and playing with!
