So, from all of the over 100 different Pretty Cure/PreCure designs in the last 20 years you can think of, who do you think is the coolest and most badass character of them all? …OBVOUSLY ITS DARK PRECURE, ddduhhhhh, no other answers are correct, period! XD

Dark Precure, for me, is the pinochle of anime design, especially with MadHouse animating the Heartcatch Precure series then, which also made Casshern Sins. The animation is J-U-S-T S-O G-O-O-D, it’s a masterpiece. And the overall series is so dark, and people actually dying in the story!!! So badass, I love it forever and ever.

And those of you out there know, I already made a papercraft design of her waaaay back when I visited Japan for the second time (I visited waaay before it was cool and they started hating gaijin, so calm down copycats XD). But, as stated in my cleanup project 3.0, I have deleted the old design of her, because it wasn’t good and my skills gotten way better since, so I had to make the most ultimate badass papercraft figure to honor Dark Precure and her amazing badass look! And here she is, in all of her black, dark, demonic glory!

Moving on to the papercraft itself, it is about 23 cm tall (with stand) and has 6 pages to print out (1 of them being an optional double-sided print page). Wanted to make her big but not too big. She has a 3D body with a separate 3D magic stick, a 3D bow at the back, her 3D dark demon-like wing (which you will definitely have to put together with wire in it to make it stand, or reinforce it another way), a 3D stand for her and some overall 2D two-sided parts to really make it shine.

I put special care into making the texture really stand out and pop out. I really wanted to pay tribute to her character, since I love her so much XD and I have always had her 3D PVC Figma figure from Japan on my desk. True peak anime design at its best!

Maybe you know the series “Pretty Cure”? It is a hugely popular children’s anime, and they now have probably over 20 different seasons of this, and over +200 individual Pretty Cure Mahou shoujo characters XD It’s hard to keep up. BUT, this season, the series is called “Meitantei Pretty Cure!” and people are going crazy about a new vileness Precure called “Cure Arcana Shadow”.

Damn, I love her design a lot! It could do with a bit less of pink in it, but they will probably even make her worse-looking and completely pinkified after she is “transformed to the good side by the power of friendship” bla bla, because that’s the kind of brainwashing little girls in Japan are used to, I guess. No matter what I think of the actual messages in this sexist anime series, I still appreciate the designs of Mahou shoujo a LOT, and some of my earliest actually 100% self-designed papercrafts was from Precure as well! And because I really like the black esthetic of this one so much, I decided to make her into a papercraft!

The papercraft is unfolded to 25 cm heigh with 7 pages to print out (with 2 of them being double-sided print pages for the inside of the hair).

It consists of my 3D model of Cure Arcana Shadow, with very, very long hair XD The template has a separate 3D staff, a separate 3D stand, a separate shawl with pink frills, a lot of 2D add-ons, such as her bows, braids, broches, ties, and optional 2D or 3D hands.

Since she has high heels on, it is better to make the stand for her, so you can either glue her on, put wire inside or magnets, so she can stand better. Since the hair in the back is very long and heavy, the legs need to be reinforced for her to be able to stand upright. Because of this and the various parts for this figure, I do recommend it for more experienced papercrafters.

Another papercraft commission I can show you, and here are Cure Cosmo and Cure Milky from the Pretty Cure series: Star Twinkle Pretty Cure (PreCure)

The papercraft is unfolded to 44 cm and has 29 pages to print (some of the pages being optional double-sided print pages for the hair parts). The template consists of both Cure Cosmo and Cure Milky, with 100% anime accurate items, details and textures, all 100% drawn and modeled by me (as all of my papercrafts are).

Both have optional 2D and 3D hands, as well as Cosmo having a simple 2D and 3D braid options. Both of them have quite a few details, since the costumes have a lot of small and cutesy add-ons, so all of them are there, from bows, to bets, purses, earrings, you name it. Cure Milky also has very thin hair stars, which would be better made with wire, and the dress should be made with transparent foil to make it look original. They also have a simple 3D stand option, so the boots can be either glued on the stand or you can make them with a Figma plastic stand or magnets.
