It’s now been 2 years since I released one of my favorite and most detalied premium papercrafts I have done since the beginning. That was “Ryza” from the game “Atelier Ryza”, of which I love all the Atelier games!
I am crazy for them XD And since the Atelier Sophie 2 game came out this year as well, I felt a bit nostalgic and decided to finally make my Ryza Stout papercraft and here it is :)
The papercraft is a typical humanoid craft, so best to start with the face. Once you have the face and neck, make the front hair bangs and then close with the cap top. Then you can make the yellow jacket separate, while leaving one of the shoulders open to be able to slide it on at the end. That way is the easiest. The wand can also be made separately.
Once you have those, assemble the hands and arms and make the accessories for the arms to put them on. Attach and glue the hands on the first half of the torso you make, and then you can glue the pre-made head on, and you can even extra reinforce it from the inside by putting rolled-up waste paper from the cut-out inside, so it doesn’t break. After it’s all neatly dried, build the remaining part of the blouse and you can glue the jacket on at that point and glue it on there. It should stand on without any additional gluing on btw.
All that is left to do is to make the legs. Start with the shoes and built it slowly up to the stomach. At this point you can fill out the feet with extra weights to make it more sturdier standing up (though it is able to stand without extra weights inside). And if you are happy with those, glue the remaining flaps from the stomach on the upper torso with the arms and head you done before, and finito :)
Make sure when you glue together the legs and torso that it’s glued on at the right angle, so it is able to stand on both feet. That’s all the “magic” there is to it. Everything else is, as always, written and seen in the 3D preview of the PDO assembly when you purchase the template, so it’s all self-explanatory.
*Note that the hair strains on both sides of the face has a 2-sided texture in the PDO you get when you buy the template, so that part where it’s white on my preview is actually hair-colored. I forgot to print it 2-sided when I made it XD Yes, even "pros" get stuff wrong some times as well. We are all human, stuff happens :P
***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***
I hope you like my Ryza and that you give these Atelier games a chance and try them out. I really fell in love once I tried just 1 of them, and you got at least 7 different versions of the game, each with own gimmicks and main characters and story.
Enjoy till the next release and happy crafting~
