Bear Wedding Pair built papercraft

Looong time ago, I made a Wedding Bear pair papercraft that was made by me seeing a similar free-hand craft on Twitter:

Although I am not a traditionalist in the least and not a sympathizer for people “needing” to be wed at all costs, because I detest religion of all forms, I do understand that people want to express their love to each other and people still do have a wish for these kinds of symbolic gestures. So, I decided to make it, because if nothing else they are super cute, and I think they do represent an everlasting bond between 2 people really loving each other and wanting to be together all their lives. And boy, do we need love now more than ever!

Anyway, I finally managed to assemble these 2 cuties and here they are. Of course, they can be combined with 2 grooms, 2 brides, bride and groom, or whatever combination you choose to make. But I made both versions of wife and husband so you can see how they both look.

For the assembly itself, there is nothing special to say. Both are basically designed the same, consisting of separate boxy-like pieces, that you then glue together at the end. Meaning you make both ears separately, then the boxy head separately, the snout separately, the torso separately, the roses (which are each made out of 3 2D pieces you simply glue together, very easy to make) and other various parts and you simply glue them all together at the end. Pretty simple, but maybe a bit more time-consuming, since you are making each piece on their own. It probably took me 18-ish hours to make both of them, but I do assemble these things pretty fast.

Everything is written and shown in the 3D preview of the PDO file you get when you purchase the template, so no worries. It’s all shown there and it’s a pretty relaxing and fun craft to put together :) Especially as a gift at a wedding, for a decoration at your own wedding or anniversary maybe, or simply because you like them and want to display them in your room.

Bear Wedding Pair papercraft

Let's get a bit romantic with the next papercraft post I made, shall we? :) I present you the “Bear wedding pair” I made. As you can see, the idea is from the reference picture I saw on Twitter that somebody made, so I decided to make a papercraft out of the craft and make my own version out of it. I can post a bit of girly stuff from time to time, I think it’s a cute gift for anybody getting married or something like that, or they can be built separately just as deco as well.

In any case, the papercraft pair are unfolded to 20 cm, plus the hat of the groom adds about 3cm to the height as well, depending on how you position the cylinder hat of the groom really. Both of them are made out of 15 page-long template that you print out and assemble.

The papercraft consists of both bride and groom. They both have separate 3D heads, separate 3D ears and a separate 3D snout, that are all built and glue together at the end. The bodies are also separately made and are 3D. The groom has 3D feet and 3D arms that are part of the body, the bride has 3D feet that are part of the body and simple 2D 2-sided arms that are glued on just like that.

Both also have some additional add-ons such as the 2D 2-sided wail of the bride, the simple 3D cylinder hat, the brides 2D bow at the back of the dress and of course the blue roses that each have. The roses are actually made out of 3 different 2D parts that you glue together and can be made simply like this, or you can additionally add the 2-sided part on as well. They are actually really simple to make, since they are formed from 2D parts, so they look complicated but they really are easy to make. And they look original and pretty, just like real roses.

I have to say that although they look boxy, the papercraft is not that boxy at all. Well, not that it is particularly hard to make, but it is rather time-consuming, since the boxy parts of the body have a lot of edges, so those take up a lot of time to make, since the edges are rounded up with those to make them look as cute as they are.
