Halloween Mimikyu Pikachu built papercraft

Since "Pokemon GO" already started with their Halloween even, though it would be a great time to let you see the built Halloween Mimikyu Pikachu I made :) So here you have it, pretty cute isn't it XD

The papercraft is about 22 cm tall, which makes it large enough to really work on the details and make it nice and smooth, without having to deal with any small fiddly stuff :)

I first made his 3D body, and attached the 2D tail with a flat wire covered in flat paper, so it's an ideal thing if you want flat things to be movable on your crafts as well (you can get that kind of wires in any flower shop really, I mean if they have them in my country, they have to have them in any really XD ). So yeah, you can have a movable simple tail, as is this one I made myself (PRO TIP btw XD - I always use this kinf of flat wire when I get the chance, moving crafts are just so much cooler than non-moving ones).

Next, I did the Gengar candy pumpkin. It has 2 sides, so you can also do the inside of it, I didn't do it because of time issues. And I also chose to make it a 1 color lantern, since in the original the Gengar lantern has different patterned rags sowed on it, but I did feel that it looked better this way, so I did it as I did.

Next step is to make the Mimikyu costume, of which I first did the hoodie and then put on over his ears. And the remaining costume just needs to be glued on his body, since else it won’t fit on at the end. So you just need to put the sleeves on before, and glue the remaining 3 stripes of the coat on and you got the costume done.

All that remains now is to put on the 2D decoration, such as the cute little orange bow, and his pockets, which you can glue on just at the ends and you can also have functioning little pockets for him as well :D

Halloween Mimikyu Pikachu papercraft

Happy Halloween everybody! Well almost Halloween at least, but if you want something to be done by the 31st October, you have to do it sooner :D So I am releasing my special 2019 Halloween Mimikyu Pikachu for you :) Also because today it’s another release thing for the Sw/Sh Pokemon game and Gamefreak is celebrating their 30th birthday, so I though I would add to the hype and make this a special release for all of your Pokemon fans ;3

As you can see, I have made the special plush Pikachu that they are selling in Japan for Halloween, and which was also revealed as a special character in the new hunt in “Pokemon GO”. It’s a Pikachu dresses as a Mimikyu, which is dresses as a Pikachu XD hahaha, “Pokeception” if you ask me.

The craft itself is 22 cm tall and has 13 pages to print. It consists of a 3D Pikachu model, with a 2D tail and a Mimikyu costume, which you built on him (+ a bit of cute little highlights to go along with it, such as the bow, his pockets and the Gengar lantern for Halloween candy collecting.

And because I hate the f***** on Sketchfab and, of course, their imcompetent asses fucked-up my free rate view only posts, I can’t post the 3D model of it on here, BUT I did make the craft and built it myself, so you will be able to see the Mimikyu Pikachu built in all its glory soon as well ;) So look forward to that!

Bea (Pokemon Sword Gym Leader) built papercraft

Let's get this week started with a sweet little built papercraft of mine. Took a long time to make this, since I wanted her nice and cleanly made, and I am super happy with her. I present you the fighting-type gym leader of the new Pokemon Sword edition, Bea!!!! Let's get ready to rumbleee~~ XD

PokeBall
As always I started to make her hands since I hate making fingers the most :D So small little 3-tier fingers to glue together, as well as the 2-tier toes on her feet, so I did the whole hands and just the toes on her feet, so I has the most fiddly parts out of the way. Then I made her face, making sure to really like iron out the folds with the glossy thin paper I am always using, so there are no bumps on the surface when it's done. Thin paper is hard to build crafts with, since it will tear in an instant or be torn because of the strong glue I use, but anything else and the paper has those bumpy lines at the end, which I really hate, so a PRO TIP for all out masochists out there :D if you want your built to be nice and you love to torture yourself with the built of them to be really immaculate (as I do), then use thin paper and iron it out after every gluing of the flaps and you get a smooth surface like I do with all built papercrafts.

Continuing with my work I made, as already said, the face and built the ears and har parts around it, making sure the neck part was open, so I could help myself with the open part to glue everything nice and smooth on there. (PRO TIP? maybe) I do that every time, always have a hole somewhere left open so you can get your fingers in and smooth out the fold lines and glue it on neatly. After I had the whole head on, I made her neck part and left that for now. Because she has a collar on and she has 2 places where you can join her together because of the over standing parts on either her breast-part or her hips (as you can see in the picture), you can decide where to join her together at the end. I decided to join her at the breast-part, so I did the collar and the upper torso with the sleeves first, and then joined the torso with the already built head. After I had that I could then easily glue the arms on, since the open sleeves of her dress make it super easy to just attach that on, without you trying to be super precise and glue every single flap on there, just put the glue on the upper arm flaps and push that in the sleeve, where you find a comfortable height for it to stand (and making sure it is facing the right way), and let it dry :) and you have half the work done (probably 2/3).

Now since we have a double part, as we said I would join it at the breast-part of her torso, I could do the legs really simply by putting them together from bottom to top, making use of those already joined together toes and making it all the way up to her hips. There you have another double part, where you firstly join the last part of her trousers, and then glue on the inside her belly aka "muscle" XD part. And since I had both parts done, I glued them together at the middle, put on her 2D 2-sided ribbon at the end, and she was done :)

In hindsight I did make her legs a bit bigger than they are shown in the reference picture, just because I was so fascinated about her bare feet and her strength, so I wanted to emphasize that by making the bottom part of her bigger :D and she really looks tough and strong that way, so I think it does her justice in a way.

For those interested in how to get the template to build her yourself, here are the info’s:

Hope you like it, only 1 month and 2 days till the release day of the game people! We are almost there!

Happy crafting~

Aggressive Retsuko (Aggretsuko) built papercraft

Wanted to share another built papercraft by me, from the awesome mini-anime series Aggressive Retsuko I did a while back :) I did both versions of her (normal and metal), so you can see how both look like as in the papercraft PDF file.

I started the craft again as I always do, from top to bottom. Making the ears first, since she has 2 little locks of fur on both sides, I did that first and made both ears. After that I made the snout, the whole head, piece after piece, gluing around the snout and ears to make the big head.

After that I made her hands. The first normal Retsuko has small round hands, but the metal Retsuko has 2 fingers up, so it's a bit fiddlier to make. So I did the hands and build it up to her arms and upper torso to the end of her blouse. Why this? Because as I explained in a PRO TIP if a character has a double-sided skirt or any kind of skirt for that matter, that is real heaven to make, since it's super simple to join it just at the hips, with no complications where to close it. So I attached the upper torso with the hands on her head and made my way to make her feet.

Now since we know we can easily join her at the hips, I made the legs from feet till hips and tail, since you can help yourself with the last pieces with the open edge at the top, where you will glue her together. So I made the legs, tail and attached the feet part with the double-sided skirt and at the end really simply attached her together at her waist part. And there she was :) And she looks so life-like I love it :D

She is about 22cm tall, both of them actually, and although she has a really large head, like in the anime, she stands without any reinforcement, because she has her feet and the extra tail, which is also thouching the ground and gives extra support at the end :) You can however reinforce her neck part with the torso, since it can snap easily because of the big head in proportion to the body.

And I made the metal Retsuko so accurate and super sweet-looking, by boyfriend wanted to get her for his office no matter what :D So the metal one is now busy in her office place, working away as in the anime XD such irony.

Retsuko screams and cries / confused
Anyway, for those interested in the template, you can get info on how to get it here:

Happy crafting~

Galarian Zigzagoon (Pokemon Sw/Sh) built papercraft

I know, I know, I am late for Spooktober, BUT I wanted to start it the right way! And what better way to start it than with a kinda spooky, evil Pokemon character from the new game (which is going to be released in less than a month and a half!!!! iiiiii!!! :D) than with the galarian form of Zigzagoon, which I love so much XD Btw evil only because the new bad team in the game, team Yell, apparently have these by the ton :D so pretty sure I will get sick of this Pokemon really, really soon - as I always do with the badguy team -, but as long as the hype is real, love him anyway :D I mean look at his cool color-palette, so punk-ish :D love it.

The papercraft I have to say is pretty hard to do, because unlike other papercrafts, I never pre-bend the fold lines on the pieces, because at the end it looks so much smooth and real-figure-like, but in this one you HAVE to pre-bend them, else you have no idea how to put each and every spike together =_= and it's really draining too. So I started as I always do, making the 4 feet and the face first. I just love his little excited face with the tongue XD so much fun to make. But after you finish with those sepparate parts, it's off to make the probably 100 spikes on his body (didn't really count them, I am just guessing XD feels like 10000 when you are making them). So I started on the head and made my way to the tail, where I closed it at the end. You can also reverse it, make the tail first and colninue your way to the head and close it anywhere at his 4 paws as well, if you like it that way.

So after some hours of spiking and glueing, I finally finished it! Although I really don't like crafts where you have to pre-bend parts, and is hard to do, because you have to concentrate till the very end, he looks amazing. And all that 100 spikes make it look so real and so cool and amazing! And all that work at the end makes it worth, because you feel like you created something super awesome with your bare hands, that's why I love papercrafts so much :) I can't help it.

In any case, for those who would like infos on the template and how to get it, you can find it here:

Hope you like it, more skooptober to come soon~
Happy crafting~

Cramorant (Pokemon Sword/Shield) built papercraft

Another one of my creations, built and ready to be shows to the world :) I present you my Cramorant, from the new Pokemon Sword & Shield game, coming out sooonnn~ :D

Pokeball (new)
I first did the head feather-piece, since it is fiddly to make, and I (BUILDING TIP? maybe) tend to make the hard parts first, so after that I can have more fun making them. Well that's my strategy at least, also because when I start I am more concentrated and rested than later in the built. Anyway, after that I decided to make the beak, since I wanted it to be nice and clean, since it is the center piece and from there made the whole head till his 2-sided feathers on his neck.

After I had that I decided to do the next fiddly pieces, which are the wings. Pretty tricky really, since they are super tight and in the folded flaps PDF you sometimes don't have all the finishing lines, coz Pepakura does that to near edges, so I had to cut them in the inner parts by feel (SUPER PRO TIP: if I had the uncolored PDF flap file that wouldn't be a problem, but then I don't tend to get the good results at the end, because colored flaps let you a 5mm fault safe, so you still have the vibrante colors of the papercraft - wihtout having to recolor them at the end -, even if you glue it together 5mm too far, so I suggest you always use the colored flap PDF's for really flawless results, such as this. Putting in more effort when building always makes the end result worth your time). So after I got those I was super happy, because those were the hardest parts of the fold and I did those really neatly :D so I was happy. After those I made the sepparate 2 feet, and then the tail. After I had those parts, I started to build it from tail, though the legs, and at the end attached the wings on the lower bodypart (wings after they are built attach really nice and easy, so no worries the won't hold or anything, they will with no reinforement needed). And as soon as I got the body, I attached it at the neck part with the head (since you can do easily, because of the 2-sided feathers on his neck, so you can finish the craft with open edges, nice and simple). And violla, it was finished :) Just the few finishing touches at the end, which I always do at the end, since those little cosmetic 2-sided things tend to fall off when you are building it, so I always glue them on at the end.

The papercraft also stands with no problems at all, since he has 2 nice big flappy feet, so you don't need to extra reinforce it or put weight in it. And he looks his clumsy, adorable body self as he is :)
