Hataraku Saibou (Cells at Work) papercraft group

Hataraku Saibou (Cells at Work) papercraft group

Here they are, the happy Hataraku Saibou – Cells at Work papercraft family XD

Since I managed to assemble all 3 of them, I HAD to make a group picture of all of them together. Aren't they just the cutest things? They are in proportion of the anime characters, so they fit together perfectly. All 3 of the papercrafts are made by me and assembled by me.

Anybody interested, all 3 templates can be found in my gallery and bought (White Blood Cell also comes with 2 different textures, the bloody one you see I used, and the normal white one). They each have their own assembly in detail as well, so you can look at those as well:

Damn, I just love this anime so much XD I cosplayed Red Blood Cell together with my friend, who was White Blood Cell, 2 year ago and we were in the middle of attention of that cosplay event all time, every day :D So hyped I get to see 2 different seasons of the anime now ;_; So bad the original second season is over already, but hey, we still got the black version XD so still hyped for it nevertheless.

I hope you like them as well. For any feedback on questions about the purchase or anything else related to papercrafts, you can message me anytime. Happy crafting till the next post~

White Blood Cell / Hakkekkyuu built papercraft

Since we started this year’s anime season with not 1 but 2 different seasons of "Hataraku Saibou" or "Cells at Work", I thought I would make the last one of my Hataraku designs that was left for me to build, and this is "Hakkekkyuu" or "White Blood Cell" :)

I wanted to build the original one, since I made the design with 2 different textures, so I had to make the blood-splatter one, ‘coz it’s just too funny XD I love how he’s always so hyped to kill those bacteria and viruses, so this one was the one I wanted to display XD

I started off by making the cap first really, since I love these small cappies and I wanted to play with it and put it on my other papercrafts and anime figurines XD damn I am allowed some fun ;P (The cap is detachable and fits on the head without glue, so you don’t need to glue it on, and you can play with it and take it on and off if you wish, just like me :D I am a big kid, what can I say). After I got that out of my system, I made the face with the neck first, same procedure as always, and from there made my way back attaching all the hair on it.

When the head was finished, I made the 2 separate hands, and then the arms. Once you have the arms, you can just glue the hands inside of them, since the inside where it’s glued together is not visible at the end, so it’s simpler that way. Just pick the right angle for them and glue them together. Once I had the arms, I made the upper torso part with the white jacket. On the jacket came the arms, and once the upper torso is made, you attach the pre-built head on it from the inside of the torso, making it nice and neatly closed. Always, after I have such humanoid papercrafts, I reinforced the inner neck part with rolled-up paper bits, so it was sturdy and the head doesn’t knick-in.

Once you got the upper body, you can make the separate legs with the boots. Same procedure here, since it’s easier to start from the bottom with feet, I first made the 2 boots, and then the legs. After I got the legs done, simply put glue on the end flaps of the feet and glue the boots on like that (same principle as with the hands, since the part where they are glued together is not seen at the end).

Once the boots and legs are glued together, you can put some additional weights into the legs if you so wish, but it was sturdy enough to stand as it was, so I didn’t put any in and just glued the legs onto the previously made upper body with the head, and the main body with the pose was done.

The only fiddly parts are now the additional 2D parts and the 3D knives. The knives are actually the fiddliest part of the papercraft, since Hakkekkyuu is unfolded to about 33 cm and there are no real fiddly small parts on the main 3D body, not even the fingers, since they are really big and easy to put together. So, the knives are the time-consuming part where you need the concentration. The handles are 3D, so those need to be put neatly together. All in all, there are 4 knives, 2 on his back in the holsters, and 2 in his hands. Once you got those pesky little handles together, you glue the 2-sided 2D knife blades together, glue them, and glue the end part on the 3D holster. Since the edge of the 2D blade would show, I made small straight incisions with my scalpel and glued the end parts of them inside the 3D handle. That way you don’t have the edge seam and it looks like a real blade. When I did that with all 4 of them, you can put the knives in place. The knives stand in his hands if you build them tight enough, so there is no need to glue any of the 4 on him, but you can do so in the hands so they don’t fall off.

And at the end all that is left are the simple 3D holsters for the knives, the 2D shoelaces, the 2D pockets and all the 2D belts around his body. Those should be the finishing touches, since else you can’t glue those on right unless you got the whole White Blood Cell’s body glued together.

And there you go, a fully functional White Blood Cell assembled papercraft XD I think he looks originally malicious, and the poses where he attacks are really funny, so I had to do it in that pose.

Hope you have fun watching the new series and happy crafting~

White Blood Cell / Hakkekkyuu (Cells At Work) papercraft

Maybe you remember one of the first polls I have asked at the beginning of this year, where I was asking what papercrafts my watchers would like me to do. As you maybe remember that poll, some of the voted for anime characters I have already made and fulfilled my promise to make them into papercrafts. But there was also an anime in that poll that was also quite high on the agenda, since a lot of people voted for it, and that was the anime: Hataraku Saibou / Cells at Work! Although the second season and the movie were postponed to 2021 next year, it’s still a very popular anime till this day. And especially because I don’t like to leave things half-done and I try to keep all my promises, I made the 3 main characters into papercrafts. So here you go! :)

~ Cells at Work!
Probably the coolest and most amazing character out of the whole “Cells at work” bunch is “Hakkekkyuu” or “White Blood Cell”. Why? Well first, because my boyfriend actually cosplayed him along with me as Sekkekkyuu at Makkon (the biggest anime event in my country) and made the whole costume and everything by himself, that’s why he is so dear to me. The second obvious reason is his attitude and character in the anime. He is super sweet and adorable, but when a virus attacks the system, all hell breaks loose and he turns into a sadistic killing machine, and it’s just so funny XDDDD Love it.

The papercraft unfold itself is unfolded to 34 cm (because he is the biggest out of the bunch and has his circle signal thing on his cap as well) and has 8 pages to print. He is made out of a 3D attached body, 4 separate and simple 3D knives, his typical hat and some simple add-ons such as his straps for the knives, etc. The pose is somewhat simple and he holds the knives in his hands, so the weight is at the center of his body and will not fall over, so he stands even without reinforcement or weights inside.

The special thing about this amazingly cool guy is, that I had, absolutely HAD, to make him in 2 different textures, so both are included in the template. First one is the normal white texture, second is the blood splattered texture he has when he is fighting against enemy viruses with his knives. So, you can choose whichever you prefer of the them, or make 2 separate Hakkekkyuus, as you wish.

Also, as with all of my latest anime girl papercrafts, the base model is simple to make and is now adjusted to also work with male human papercrafts. The principle is same for all of them. Not only does he have just the right amount of polygons to still look anime-like and be simple enough to make into a built craft, he also has a functional hole in the head (where you can’t see it when built, beneath his hair), which is used to make the head assembly super simple, since you have a big hole to use to make the head and attach the hair in  a super neat way. So, except for the somewhat fiddly fingers and maybe the knives (of which only the grips are actually boxy 3D and the blades 2D 2-sided parts that you just glue on the holder) he should be quite easy to glue together.

I hope you like the cool and at the same time sadistic white blood cell and make your own soon ;)

Red Blood Cell / Sekkekkyuu (Cells At Work) built papercraft

To show you how the “Cells at Work” papercrafts can look like assembled, I have decided to make the Sekkekkyuu papercraft myself as well, so you can see her in all her cuteness, so I hope you’ll like her.

Hataraku! ~ Cells at Work!
The craft has some fiddlier parts to make, so I first made these. What are they? Well the hands, of course. Smaller fingers on slender hands, that’s how it goes with humanoid papercrafts. So, I made the hands and then the arms to the armpits, and left those for later. Then I made the face part with the neck and then the hair part to the neck. After you have those 2, you simply glue them together at the hole part in the hair (that’s why the hole in the back head is for, to make this part super simple to make), and you glue the remaining part of her long hairs on and you have the head part finished.

After the head I made her 3D hat. This is also somewhat fiddly, since it has a red blood cell shape, so it has a bit of parts to put together. But if you put it together right, it should look like in the picture and you can later take in on or off, since it has practical “flaps” left and right, which grip the hat when you put it on so it holds it in place. Really cool patent I made and I’ll definitely use it on other hat papercrafts in the future if I can, since you don’t need to glue the cap on and you can still put it on without it falling off all the time.

Next, I made the upper body with the black T-shirt. I made the whole T-shirt with the sleeves and then glued the head on, making sure to glue the T-shirt together at the very end, after the neck was glued inside it.

Then you need to assemble the jacket, since it’s separate from the body, to make it look cooler and more natural. You built that, which is pretty straightforward, and then glue the already assembled arms inside the sleeves rather than on the T-shirt, since it’s super easier that way (you don’t need to glue these seam on seam, since you can just adjust the angle and length by putting them in with glue on top and then gluing them at the right angle, without making a huge fuss about if it’s super accurate or not, since it’s not visible anyway). And the same goes when putting on the hands, since they are gloves with a edge that you can also glue on the arm parts in the right angle, without making a fuss about the seams.

After you have the upper body, you make the hip part, and then you make the legs sepparately, again super easy. I made the boots first, then socks and the separate legs. At the end you glue the legs inside the socks, then both inside the boots and then the whole leg part of the craft inside the hips, again without a huge fuss on how accurate it has to be, since you can adjust the angle (in the boots and in the hips) as you put it together, thanks to the longer edge of the jeans she has.

All that is left is to make her simple 3D box for transporting O2. A simple boxy design with a open top, since you can put something inside or leave it open or close it, however you want. You can make more boxes and make a whole stack of them, reprinting the box page of the PDF file how many times you like. I made 2 just to make them looks fancier I guess XD Of course, as you can see in the picture, the boxes also don’t need to be glued in her hands, since with the right angle in her arms and jacket, as shown in the papercraft template, they stand with no problem, and you can even stack more of them on top of each other, however you like.

And there you go, your own customizable Sekkekkyuu / Red Blood Cell papercraft figurine!

Platelet / Kesshouban (Cells At Work) built papercraft

To show you how the “Cells at Work” papercrafts can look like assembled, I have decided to make the Platelet papercraft myself, so you can see her in all her cuteness, so I hope you’ll like her.

After the head, I made the upper body with the blue, long T-shirt. I made the whole T-shirt with the sleeves and then glued the head on, making sure to glue the T-shirt together at the very end, after the neck was glued inside it. And then come the firstly assembled hands, that you just glue inside the sleeves (you don’t need to glue these seam on seam, since you can just adjust the angle and length by putting them in with glue on top and then gluing them at the right angle, without making a huge fuss about if it’s super accurate or not, since it’s not visible anyway.

After you have the upper body, you make the legs, again super easy. I made the boots first and the separate legs. At the end you glue the legs inside the boots and then the whole leg part of the craft inside the T-shirt, again without a huge fuss on how accurate it has to be, since you can adjust the angle (in the boots and in the hips) as you put it together.

All that is left is to make her simple 3D bag, the flag and the hat. As you can see each of these parts can be taken off, and if you glued the arms in the right angle, as I did and is intended in the papercraft template, she can hold the flag in her hands as is, without gluing it on, since the angle of the hands is really neat and tight to it holds very well. And you can play with the hat and take it on or off, or flip it over, etc. Just have fun with it.

The info on the template can be found here:

I hope you like how cute she is and that you make some of your own cute papercrafts in the future. Happy crafting~

Platelet - chan | Hataraku Saibou (TV)
Another “Cells at work” papercraft I had to make was “Kesshouban” or “Platelet”, because I already made a chibi version of her and people went crazy about her, since she is so cute. So, I thought I would do her justice and make her the way she is, so she can fit with the other 2 “Cells at Work” papercrafts in a group.

The papercraft unfold itself is unfolded to 20 cm and has 5 pages to print. She is made out of a 3D attached body, a separate simple 3D flag, her typical white cap/hat and a simple 3D boxy bag around her. The pose is simple and she holds the flag in her hands, making sure that she doesn’t fall over, so she stands without any help with weights or reinforcing on both her feet. The hat and the flag can be made so they can be removed and don’t need to be glued on. Or you can put other smaller items in her hands to hold, depends on you.

Also, as with all of my latest anime girl papercrafts, the base model is simple to make. Not only does she have just the right amount of polygons to still look anime-like and be simple enough to make into a built craft, she also has a functional hole in her head (where you can’t see it, beneath her hair), which is used to make the head assembly super simple, since you have a big hole to use to make the head and attach the hair in  a super neat way. Red Blood Cell / Sekkekkyuu (Cells At Work) papercraft

Maybe you remember one of the first polls I have asked at the beginning of this year, where I was asking what papercrafts my watchers would like me to do. As you maybe remember that poll, some of the voted for anime characters I have already made and fulfilled my promise to make them into papercrafts. The first “Cells at work” papercraft I had to make was “Sekkekkyuu” or “Red Blood Cell”, because I actually cosplayed her at Makkon (the biggest anime event in my country) and made the whole costume and everything myself, that’s why she is so dear to me. That was about 2 years ago and I still think she’s really cute and awesome, although a bit clumsy and dorky XD

Smile - Red blood cell | Hataraku Saibou (TV)
The papercraft unfold itself is unfolded to 27 cm and has 7 pages to print. She is made out of a 3D attached body, a separate red jacket you build on her, her typical red blood cell shaped hat and a simple 3D box for transporting oxygen that she carries in her hands. The pose is simple and she holds the box in her hands, making sure that she doesn’t fall over, so she stands without any help with weights or reinforcing on both her feet. The hat and the box can be made so they can be removed and don’t need to be glued on. Just the jacket doesn’t come off once you put it on, since you have to make it in the middle of assembling her upper torso with the hands.

Platelet (Cells at Work) chibi papercraft

Anone~, anone~~

I saw a really sad craft of this little cutie on Taobao, and dammit I thought to myself I can't let that slide for a papercraft, and one of my favourite anime of this season at that!!! So I wanted to do justice to this cute anime called "Hataraku Saibou - はたらく細胞" or "Cells at work!"! I mean, come on people, everybody should know this anime! XD it's adorable!

The craft itself is made by me, of course, all of it. It is about 14 cm tall, since I wanted it to be really small, because it is a chibi; duhhh XD

The papercraft consist of 6 pages, made out of the main model of the Platelet chibi as well as 2 traffic cones, just to make it cuter ;)

The main Platelet chibi of course, has separate hair (which is 2 sided and is just glued on the head), a separate hat (which is also just glued on), as well as a separate flag for her to hold in her cute, little, adorable hand X3

***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***

I hope you like her, and the anime as well, as much as I do and enjoy the papercraft of her. I will be trying to make this cutie myself soon, so you can see the built craft as well. I can't wait to make her X3

Enjoy and happy crafting~
