Slime girl OC built papercraft

Shared the template

Now it’s time for the building process and some tips along the way.

*******************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

As with any of my assemblies, start from top and move to the bottom. And since she has a nice dress, you can also divide the build into separate pieces: The face and neck with the back hair, the arms with the hands, the torso with the dress and the legs.

Start by making the face part first, glue on the front bangs first and then add the back part of the hair and the neck. You can close the hair with the last bottom part with no flaps and that’s done.

Next, you can put together the 2 arms. You have the 3D as well as the 2D version of the hands to choose for these (I assembled the easier 2D version here). Put aside and assemble the upper torso part with the collar first. When you have the torso, you can glue the head with the neck and the 2 arms inside it. And once that is dried, glue on the remaining part of the dress and the necktie.

Lastly come the legs that you build from bottom to top. And before gluing on this part inside the dress, make sure to add in some weights so it stands nicely. And it’s finished.

Slime girl OC papercraft

A rather old design I made and completely forgot to post XD It was made while looking at some anime inspirations online, so I decided to make a somewhat crossover of a slime girl, Hatsune Miku and a jellyfish… well, this is what came out. A rather unique pose I wanted to try out and I think it’s rather cute-ish :)

*************************

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 24 cm and has 4 pages to print. A rather straightforward humanoid papercraft with 3D hair in the back, 2D hair in the front, as well as optional 2D or 3D hands.

Hatsune Miku chibi (Bear costume) built papercraft

Hatsune Miku chibi (Bear costume) built papercraft

As with all of my papercrafts, I start with the head. Face first, then the backside hair and the front bangs. Pretty simple so far. Then, I made the separate hoodie of the bear, with the ears and snout. Then again, separately made the 2 hairtails on the sides and then you have to glue these 3 parts together. This is the fiddliest part of the assembly really. You want to make it nice and sturdy, so what I did is first glued the tails on each side to the bear head, like it’s supposed to be, shown in the PDO file. Then, when the glue is dry, I put in some rolled-up curled paper bits that were left from my cut-out and jammed them neatly into the part where the tails and the bear head meet. That way, it’s super sturdy, the tails won’t break off and it holds in its place. Once that is done and also dry (since you want to put on some glue on the rolled-up paper so it really holds like a bomb), you can put in the head of Miku. Once it’s in place and inside the bear head with the tails, glue it in its place with the 2 flaps (as shown in the PDO, it’s all shown in the template, so no worries there). And you have the head done.

Now, move to make the separate paws of the hands first. The paws can both be made separately and the arms can be made separately, and gluing them together at the end, since it’s really simple to make them that way. Once you have the arms ready, then comes the second fiddly part. You have to take the head of Miku, gently flip it over and glue the 2 torso pieces on the neck part. It’s only fiddly because you have to work with the huge chibi head of Miku and turn it upside down, so you got to be careful not to use too much access force so you don’t smush it. Glue the 2 first torso parts on the neck of the head, and then glue on the 2 amrs. Once the arms are on, glue the remaining stripes of her dress with the upside down head and the fiddly parts are over.

It sounds really complicated, but once you make your own template and see that this way the head really is sturdily paced where it should be and nothing will fall off doing head first, you are gonna see it’s the correct way to go about assembling this. The only fiddly part is to really be gentle with it and glue them in place where the flaps are needed, really glue them on tight so it sits well. That’s the only thing.

Then, when you got ¾ of the craft made, all that are left are the legs. Do those by assembling the paws of the feet separately, and the 2 legs separately and then glue them together nice and easy, just like the arms. Once they are both assembled, glue them together with the bottom parts and her pants, and that’s done.

All you have to do now is glue the bottom leg part with the upper half of Miku with the head, and you got yourself a nice and cute Miku bear costume papercraft.

The whole papercraft probably took me about 14 hours to make. Not too hard to make, just mind the bobbly head by turning it around when assembling it on the body and make the tails sturdier from the inside with the rolled-up paper, and you’ll be fine.

Hope you like the little cutie, since I had to make at least 1 of my Hatsune Miku Vocaloid crafts, since I am a Vocaloid fan from the beginning, but never had time to make and of them :D At least now you get to see a chibi version made by me.

Hatsune Miku Snow Princess (2019) papercraft

And now, nooowww, I am finally able to show you the secret papercraft project I have been sneek-peeking you some time ago :)

Of course, it is no other than the one and only "Hatsune Miku Snow Princess", a design of the Snow princess from 2019. Probably the first Hatsune Miku papercraft I have done all 100% my myself and it was a workload, let me tell you. This baby has a whooping 5 different 1024x1024b textures, all hand-drawn and made for the upmost high-resolution-quality you can get from Pepakura. The papercraft is 28 cm tall, and includes the Hatsune Miku Snow Princess craft, the Snowbunny craft, her 3D staff, as well as the 3D stand. It is a masterpiece, if I may say so myself, unfolded in a whooping 26 pages all in all.

Miku
It is probably the most complex, most beautiful, and best papercraft till this day, definelty the best in 2020 so far! I wanted to make her, because I always see those Taobao papercrafts that cannot be shipped to my country, because you have to have a Chinese account there. So I wanted to make my own Hatsune Miku papercraft befitting of the title "Taobao papercraft", although you can't get it there and it's made by me, but you know what I am trying to say here XD

She has very intricate details, and many add-ons, that is why there is so much paper to print for her, and because everything is 2-sided to make it look like a real anime figurine. Everything designed and all the items were made by me looking up anime figurines of her and seeing what they look like and how they are colored, that's why you see the reference in the picture being the anime figure itself.
