Rowlet Poke ball (Pokemon) papercraft

Decided to do a whole bunch of different life-size box Poke ball designs and I made a LOT, since I had so much fun making them XD so from now on, you’ll get to probably see at least 1-2 Poke ball papercrafts posted on my site for a long, long time.

They range from the normal in-game designs, to exclusive Pokemon designs I made up as OC’s. They are all relative in height, about 11 cm (not including the stand and the ears and accessories, if they have any), so they all fit together as a bunch. I made them as life-size Pokemon-themed boxes, since they can open and close like a box with a lid and they all have optional double-sided print pages for a colored inner side, so the box looks neater when built. The 2 buttons in the front are separate 3D parts glued on the front. They also all have optional stands, so you can place them inside and they don’t roll away.

*Note that all of them are more challenging to make, are more detailed and have smaller or thinner parts, so I do not recommend any of them to beginners. I think these are best suited for intermediate and experienced papercrafters, but who am I to say what you can and cannot do (;

This is the OC Rowlet Poke ball design papercraft box. It is unfolded to 19 cm (12 cm of the actual Poke ball height) and has 5 pages to print out (5 of them being double-sided).

The preview picture shows the unfolded Poke ball template that stands apart a bit, so it is easier to assemble with the inner part shown, but you can also see the closed preview and how it looks, just so you know how it looks closed.

Rowlet (Pokemon) Decidueye built papercraft

Already released the template of Rowlet in his Decidueye cosplay costume:

And now you can also see the assembly preview and read about the tips, if you want.

**************************

ASSEBMLY TIPS:

As you can see from the pictures, the actual cosplay leaf coat can be simply taken off of Rowlet, so you can make the Rowlet and the coat both separately.

For the Rowlet, be sure to make the beak and both wings separately first and then start making the body from top to bottom. When you have the head made, glue the beak from the inside out of the hole to make a simpler built, and same with the wings when you come to the body part to do so. The body is closed by gluing in the last bottom piece of the legs and it doesn’t need any weights inside, since it’ stands fine on both legs.

As for the coat part I suggest you first make the coat part that goes around the body, the bottom part first. And only then, add the front face part and lastly put on the 2 2D wines on it and the feather.

At any given time, the coat can be taken off, and you can display the little angry chicken with or without it :)

Rowlet (Pokemon) Decidueye papercraft

About time I make another one of my fav Pokemon papercrafts. And I decided to make the cute Rowlet in his adorable, little Decidueye cosplay costume from the anime XD I love it so much and Rowlet is so damn adorable to die for! Birds are the best, no matter if real or Pokemon :)

**************************

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 13 cm and has 5 pages to print. It consists of a base simple 3D model of Rowlet and the optional 2D Decidueye costume you build and glue around the base Rowlet model.

The smaller parts would be his 3D claws/feet and the beak, else it is simple to assemble, since he is a simple round-ish shape. Yes, round is a very cute and simple shape, deal with it :D

Human Rowlet (Pokemon) built papercraft

Posted my human Rowlet girl template preview already that you can view here:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Human-Rowlet-Pokemon-papercraft-971540436

So now you can see her assembly and how cute she looks in real as well

*As with any of my papercraft templates, the blank PDO is always included in these files, so you help yourself with the 3D preview in Pepakura to assemble it, but I like to post a bit of experience I have with building papercrafts to maybe make things easier for less experienced papercrafters and share ideas on how to make it simpler

:bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen:

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

As with all of these humanoid papercrafts, it can be divided into smaller separate parts you can built and then put together, to make it easier to assemble. So, you can divide it into: the head with the neck and hair, The torso with the upper wings and the skirt, the bottom with legs and the 2 boots.

As with all of my papercrafts, I always start with the head. Build the face and the head around + the neck and then glue the front hair bangs on the face part. After that, build the remaining back part of the hair, making sure to glue the part that sticks together with the head, to glue together and to close it up. All that is left to do is to glue the 2 leaves/pins on the front hair.

When you finish the whole head, it’s time to start the torso. The upper neck part has 2 parts you need to make first, so do those and assemble the first upper part of the torso to about half of the breasts. Then you can glue on the head with the neck on there and close it. Then, build the 2 wings/arms separately, and put each of them in there, and then slide in the folds, so you are able to glue it in nicely and additionally reinforce it with rolled-up leftover paper from the cut-out, to make it sturdier and really holding it together. Once the neck is glued on the torso part, slide the neck decorations on there and glue on the remaining parts of the dress, including the inner (optional) side in this part.

Leave the whole thing for now and glue the last parts, the legs, together. Start at the bottom (the pants) and make your way up. Again, you can divide the leg part into the boots and into the thighs with the panties, to make it simpler. Build each of those 4 parts and glue them together at the knee part with the flaps. And before anything, fill up the boots with some weights here, to make her really stand firmly (*Pro-tip: I always suggest smaller pebbles, since they are small enough to fit and heavy enough to help with the weight as well, without rupturing the paper itself).

Now, all that is left to do is glue the torso and the legs all together with the flaps in the waist part of each part. Be sure to adjust the angle again to make sure it can stand firmly and let it dry like that.

And voilà, done :)

Human Rowlet (Pokemon) papercraft

Saw some humanoid Pokemon illustrations online, so I got the inspiration to make one of my fav bird Pokemon, Rowlet, into a really cute, derpy human girl. I really love Rowlet, it’s so clumsily adorable :D

:bulletgreen: :bulletgreen: :bulletgreen:

I really wanted to showcase its derpy nature in the anime itself, so I tried to do that with the blank stare look and the tilted head a bit. I think the human Pokemon girl looks so cute, and I can’t wait to assemble her for my collection when I get the time.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 18 cm and consists of 4 printable pages. It has a 3D model of the Rowlet girl, as well as some add-on 2D items, such as the tie, her hairpins and the inside of her coat (but all is visible with the added blank PDO file you get with the purchase and you can see everything there on how to make it, so no worries about the assembly itself). The wings are also made out of 2-sided parts that are joined into a 3D arm at the shoulders, so it’s really easy to do, since you have no fiddly fingers/hands to make here as well.

The papercraft has 2 legs to stand on, so it shouldn’t have any problems standing even without weights inside the feet, but you can always add them just in case. The only fiddlier part here would be the head with the front bangs. I would give it a 7/10.
