Tuxedo Sam (Sanrio) built papercraft

I already released the template of Tuxedo Sam here:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Tuxedo-Sam-Sanrio-papercraft-1099821130

and now you can also see and read about the assembly tips.

**********************

*NOTE: The preview picture of Tuxedo Sam is only of 1 of 3 poses you get included in the template. The template has 3 different poses of Sam and here you only get to see the sleeping version of him. Basically all 3 poses are made the same way and with the same assembly tips.

Since I do all of the papercraft 100% and completely by myself (not only the design, texture and 3D model and pose, but also the built previews and pictures), I do sometimes skip parts or make them simpler. I basically did just the 1 version of him to be able to show it to you, since I got so much other stuff to work on :)

**********************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

Best way to build any of my papercrafts (since I put the flaps on in that logic) is by making it from top to bottom. You should start with the head and make your way down until you get to the hole hole part where the beak goes. Put the head aside and make the beak, the 2 flippers, the 2 feet and the hat all separately.

Once you got those parts, put glue on the flaps of the beak and slide it inside the hole in the head where it goes, and glue it on. Continue going down and gluing together the body until again, you make the 2 holes for the flippers. Take the flippers you made separately before, put glue on the flaps, and slide/glue them inside.

Continue to make the body until you come to the last bottom part where you close it (the last bottom part has no flaps, so this is the part that you close the craft with). Take the 2 feet you made before, and again, slide them inside the holes and glue them inside. The legs are a bit smaller than the rest, so it can take a bit longer to glue them inside, so take your time and use tweezers, if necessary.

Once you got that, close the bottom with the last piece, glue on the hat at the right angle on the head, and the little sleepy penguin is done :)

Tuxedo Sam (Sanrio) papercraft

Since I made a lot of Sanrio papercrafts, I decided to continue these and make another cutie of the bunch. This time I made “Tuxedo Sam”, a well-known little sailor penguin with his cute little hat. Who doesn’t love penguins? So cute :3

**********************

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 13 cm and has 9 pages to print out (9 for all 3 versions, 3 for the sleeping version, 3 for the standing version and 3 for the walking version). The template includes 3 differently posed Tuxedo Sams (since I couldn’t decide which one was cuter XD), so you can decide which one you like best or you can make all 3 of them.

All of the papercraft versions are made the same way, so the template consists of a 3D model of San, including 3D hands, 3D feet and 3D beak and a 2D sailor cap. The smaller parts would be the webbed feet (the legs) and the 3D flippers. It’s all visible in the PDO file you get with the purchase and it’s not hard to do in any case.

Hope you like Tuxedo Sam and you look up his merch. He is definitely one of the cutest Sanrio characters and maybe not as well-known in other countries as in Japan, but not to be overlooked!

Enjoy and happy crafting~

Hello Kitty kimono built papercraft

Since I posted the template already, I also wanted to show how she looks assembled and here is the preview and some tips for the build for those wanting to buy here.

:bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple:

The template was already released for this and can be previewed here btw.

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Hello-Kitty-kimono-papercraft-940880722

All my papercrafts come with the blank PDO file for an easier assembly but I do like to post some tips here and there, to make the build a bit simpler yet.

:bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple:

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

Best you start this craft with the head. You can make both ears separate and then astart making the top of the head, gluing on the ears on both sides, and making your way all down to the neck part. Once the head is done, put it aside and you can start making the 3D bows, both hands and both legs.

Leave those aside as well and make your way making the 2 sleeves/arms of the kimono and join them together at the neck part. Once the neck part of the kimono is done, you can attach the pre-made head on there. From here on it’s best to assemble the pieces on with the craft flipped over, because the head is quite heavy on its own. So, flip the craft on its head and build the remaining parts of the kimono to the bottom piece. Here, you have the last 2 dark purple parts of the kimono bottom to put on, one on the inside of where the feet will be, and the other to then close the bottom part.

Now that the papercraft is closed, all that remains is to put the pre-made separate bow, hands and feet on there at the right angle, as well as the 2D whiskers, and the craft is finished.

The crafts stands perfectly fine as is, but before closing the kimono with the last dark purple piece, you can put in weights for additional help. And I also suggest reinforcing the neck part when you put it on the kimono, so it holds nicely as well. A bit of tape from the inside to hold it still so it won’t snap, and it’s good to go.

Hello Kitty kimono papercraft

Since I made most of the known Sanrio papercrafts already, it’s finally time to also include the most known one: Hello Kitty. Not my favorite really, never really liked her because she is girly and pinkish etc. BUT, since I am an artist, I can re-define the character however I like in my esthetics, and let me tell you that the color purple actually suits her 500% better XD

:bulletpurple: :bulletpurple: :bulletpurple:

The papercraft is unfolded to a height of 15 cm and includes a Hello Kitty kimono papercraft, separate 3D hands and feet (so it’s simpler to assemble), 2D whiskers and her bow decorations and her separate 3D bow. The template consists of 4 pages to print out, so nothing that hard or too time-consuming to make.

The template, when you buy it, includes all PDF versions as well as the PDO for simpler assembly (as do all my papercrafts I sell), so there is nothing that hard to build that would need mentioning. Probably the hardest parts are the separate hands and feet, since they are the ones with the smallest parts and you do need to close them before gluing them on, but again, not too fiddly. I would say this is a 5/10, suitable for beginners as well as advanced papercrafters.

I’ll be sure to post the assembled preview pictures when I make her myself, so you’ll be able to see how she looks printed out and glued together.

I hope you enjoy the papercraft in any case and happy crafting~

Gudetama (Simple Version) built papercraft

As promised, I am showing you the built papercraft of the first  papercraft of the series “Super simple papercrafts”, simple Gudetama. The papercraft template and all info can be found here:

The papercraft as you can see is made out of 3 differen Gudetama versions, each mostly with the same assembly process and all about 16cm tall (not counting the eggshell on his head).

All 3 bodies are 3D, so I build those first. After those you either have 3D hands or feet that you build sepparately and then glue on the body, or you have simple 2D hands as on the first sitting Gudetama.

The first and third ones have egg yolks in 2D, so those are just cut out and put under Gudetama, or you can glue them on the yolk, as you wish.

The second one, as you can see, is sitting in a broken eggshell, so those 2 are build sepparately and just put on Gudetama, or again you can glue that on (it also has a 3D cone-shape, which holds the top eggshell on it's head so the face of Gudetama can be seen, so you can use that or glue that on as well, or you can leave it out and put the eggshell top on just like that).

And last but not least you have the 2D "bacon-blanket" that you also just cut out and glue on 2 sides at his arms, and then glue the 3D arm of the third one on top of the blanket, so it looks like it is holding it.

Think just by looking at the picture it should become very clear what I mean with all of the specifics and that it super easy and straightforward to assemble so there is nothing more to explain here :D

I hope you enjoy the build and that it inspires you to make your own papercrafts. Happy crafting~

Gudetama (Simple Version) papercraft

Hello people! Happy Easter and all that, hope you spend the holidays well and are enjoying the free Monday ;) As stated in my last posts I said I would like to start with some new projects I have made and am working on, so today I present you the start of the papercraft series called “Super simple papercrafts”.

I got the idea to make these after I saw some designs online that again you can’t get or buy anywhere, so I really got the inspiration to make these papercrafts there.

So, what is this all about? As the name suggests, it is a project of a few really simple papercrafts I wanted to make. Since I saw that many people are somewhat intimidated of my papercrafts and I do like to make more intricate designs and details in papercrafts, people tend to get scared of the work and difficulty to make them. In order to show that it’s not the case and that I take an effort to make papercrafts available really for any kind of papercrafter, be it beginner, advanced or pro, I decided to address the issue and show that anybody can make papercrafts and especially designed some fun crafts that REALLY ANYBODY CAN MAKE, super simple and really fast. But most of all, fun!

These papercrafts are simple in design regarding how many pieces there are, they are unfolded a bit bigger to make it simpler to assemble them, they have more detached pieces that you just make and glue on, and still look super sweet and adorable so anybody will want to make them.

I have some of them prepared and also many built by me, so for most of them you’ll be able to see how they look like assembled, and that they, as promised, simple and fast to make. Every papercraft of this project or series will be named as a “(Simple version)” in the title, so you’ll be able to see these just by reading the title, so you know where to look.

I hope you’ll like them and let’s start this!

The first papercraft in my “Super simple papercrafts” series is another, simple version of Gudetama. Why? Because it’s Easter with all the eggs, and I know that Gudetama a really popular Sanrio character, so most people will hopefully like it :)

Cold Egg - Gudetama
The papercraft itself is unfolded to 14 cm height, made out of 3 different Gudetamas and has 12 pages to print if you want to make all 3 of them.

The 1. Gudetama has a simple 3D body, with 2 3D hands and feet, that you build separately and attach on the main body. And it also has a simple 2D stand egg yolk that you can cut out and put under him :)

The 2. Gudetama has a simple 3D body, with 2 3D hands, that you build separately and attach on the main body. It sits in a cracked egg, that you build in 2 parts, the upper and under part, and Gudetama can sit in the egg. It also has a simple 3D cone, that you put or glue on Gudetamas head, so the upper part of the eggshell can stand on it, or you can put it on just like that.

The 3. Gudetama has a simple 3D body, with 1 3D hand and 2 3D feet, that you build separately and attach on the main body. It also has a simple 2D cutout “bacon” blanket around himself, so you see a “bacon and eggs” version here XD And it also has a simple 2D stand egg yolk that you can cut out and put under him :)

I already assembled all 3 versions of the papercraft and you will be able to see them build tomorrow, so you’ll get to see all of it in it’s maximum cuteness :D

I hope you look forward to all the “(Simple version)” papercrafts I still have to show. Any feedback, post, reply or message is much appreciated. Happy crafting till then~
