Shinra chibi (Fire Force) built papercraft

Shinra chibi (Fire Force) built papercraft

Since I released/will release a whole range of “Enen no Shouboutai” chibi papercrafts, I also got to built at least some of them XD So I decided to start with the main character of the anime, Shinra in his cutish chibi form.

As with all my crafts, I always start at the head. Built the face first (with the neck) and then make your way to the back of the head with the hair and 2D 2-sided hair, gluing it where it is shown in the templates. Since the 2-sided hair parts are meant to cover-up white surface, I suggest you first glue the front part of the hair and then close it at the back with the other part, so the white flaps will be between the glued together parts and they will be covered up like that. That way the head will look nice and clean. And once you get to the back, just close it with the last piece, helping yourself with the hole in the neck part, if necessary, and the head is done. All there is left are the 2 2D 2-sided ears you glue on the right sports and the head is done.

Moving on, I made the 2 arms separately first. After you have only the arms done, glue the “stumps” inside the arms at the right angle. And after those are glued, you can glue on the simple 2D 2-sided hands on and bent/curl both thumbs and index fingers to his “concertation pose” he does with his hands when he wants his extra powerful fire attack move (see my reference picture above so you know what I mean), and those are done :)

When the arms are done, built the first half of the jacket with the collar. When you got that, glue the arms on the jacket and then slide the neck part (of the built head) inside the hole and glue it up from the inside. Let that part dry good, and when it does, use curled-up waste paper to bulk up that tiny neck of his to prevent it from snapping (it’s a chibi papercraft, so the necks are always the most difficult part, since they are so small and the head disproportionately big).

After that built the remaining jacket part and then move on to the legs. The legs can be assembled separately from the main body, since they fit inside the jacket and it’s easier that way, so do just that. Built the feet from the bottom upwards, first making the boots and make your way up till you reach the last part. In this phase you can fill out or add weights into the feet (if you want to be 100% sure it stands), but he stands pretty good without any help as well. And after you are happy with the feet, simply paste glue on the flaps and glue them on the body at the waste part, adjusting the right angle so he can stand, and there you go.

All that is left is to make the last parts, which are his decorative flame parts on his feet. They are simple 2D 2-sided parts, so when you glue them together, bend them in the middle and just put them beneath his feet as they can stand like that (or glue them on the soles of the feet if you want). And we are done.

He is pretty sturdy for a chibi papercraft, if you assemble him right. The neck is “hidden” inside the collar, making the most vulnerable part (the neck) pretty stiff even without extra reinforcing it.

I hope you like him and you’ll get some ideas to assemble a papercraft or two on your own. The template and info about the purchase can be found here:

Shinra Kusakabe (Fire force) papercraft

Ohh people, have I got an eyecatcher for you here. I have been working on this little baby since the new anime came out, since I love it so much and it reminds me of "Ao no exorcist". OF COURSE I am talking about the new super awesome anime "Fire force" or "Enen no shouboutai", which has one of the most lovable main characters for me in this season, called "Shinra Kusakabe". I love him so much and he has just immediately had a place in my heart from episode 1, I mean now can you not love that demon grin on his face XD so funny, love it (btw he is a hero, not a bad guy for those who don't know him yet XD GO WATCH THE ANIME!!! :D)

And since I love the character and the anime so much, I wanted to make a papercraft figure worthy of him. So how else could it be as to make him in his attack with the devil's footprints, his awesome ability to create fire out of his feet XD really something else people, I tell you. So from the begining I have had a vision on how I wanted to make this craft and what pose he should have and I am super proud of it :)

The papercraft, which is about 30 cm, has a whooping 19 pages, since half of those are the flames for the super hot stand he is on XD Each flame of the stand is 2-sided and is meant to be glued on the built 3D stand, so it really gives that cool firely feel of it, without being too hard to make, and still looks freaking soo cool XD

So, as already mentioned, the craft consists of 2 separate elements, well actually 3 if you count the 3D 2-sided firefighter helmet in the air (which I added in for anybody who wants to put the helmet on him or just on the podest besides for a cooler overall view). The Shinra papercraft is, of course, separate, so you can make only the figure if you want (although he does not stand on his own, so you will have to make your own stand or put him on wires/thread), or just the podest :D it's really so cool XD love it to bits. He has attached 2-sided hair, which the 2 bangs on each side you glue with edges as 1 stripe on the head. Nice and simple. He has 5 fingers, so those are a bit fiddly, as are all fingers (I hate making those myself to much XD but if you want the papercraft to really look nice at the end, you got to give a bit of effort ;)), some 2-sided pieces of his uniform for a better overall look at the end, but nothing shoould be hard to do, since I wanted it to look super cool but at the same time make as easy to build as possible.

Fire Emoji
Ahhh, I really love the stand with the flames (which I modeled from the original anime flames btw, so it's with reference XD). A bit of a extra info maybe interesting for those who are hardcore fans. I actually searched for some reference picutres for the colors etc, and I saw that in the actual manga the firefighter helmet actually spells "Fire soldier" as with the anime they decided to go with "Fireforce", hence the iconic anime title in English, which is not a word-to-word translation of the original Japanese title :) So no comments that the helmet typing is wrong XD it's from the anime.
