So, no real secret, by now everybody knows about the “KPop Demon Hunters” cartoon that came out on Netlifx and what a huge hit it is.

Apart that the cartoon clearly glorifies binge-eating, anorexia, sexism, women and men stereotypes, is very harmful to self-images of every small (or not so small) girl and boy out there, and that I absolutely hate idol pop culture, K-pop and any kind of prostitution like this alike (yes, this is prostitution in a wider sense, think about it), it has a pretty nice animation XD

Nothing really THAT good to say from my side (the story is very shallow and apart from the 2 main characters, you only get type tropes for the other people starring in it and “nice” K-pop songs, if you like them),

HOWEVER, there are 2 small little hidden gems inside this cartoon that I absolutely fell in love with: The guardian tiger and bird in the series!

And damn, of course the producers didn’t think of making any nice merch of those or anything like that, so as a designer myself and an absolute bird lover, it is my duty to share this little adorable fluffy demon in papercraft form! And here is the little cutie!

Since I could not decide on a pose or expression, I decided to make a DIY kit of it. So, you have the bird in 3 different poses, and each one with 2 different eye expressions, the round and sassy eyes.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 18 cm and has 9 pages to print. The hat and the 2 wings are separately made from the main 3D body and are just glued on at the right position. The legs are a bit smaller, so that part would be harder to make.

Sailor Neptune (Sailor Moon) papercraft

Sailor Neptune (Sailor Moon) papercraft

All the way back in 2014-2015 I released my first Sailor Moon papercrafts. Since my skills kept developing, these older designs weren’t up to par with my current work, so I removed them altogether. But ever since I did, I wanted to make new ones. And it took all the way to now to make them in a way to reflect my personal papercraft journey and how far I have come with my skills, and doing the franchise justice. I finally took the time to completely remake those ones and make a whole new shiny and fresh batch of Sailor Senshi from 0. So, here they are.

This is the papercraft of Eternal Sailor Neptune, complete with all of the original details and parts from the anime/movie.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 25 cm and has 6 pages to print.

It includes a base 3D model of Michiru, with 2D double-print page hair, a 2-layered 2D skirt, smaller 2D accessories, optional 2D or 3D sleeves, optional 2D or 3D cuffs, optional 2D or 3D hands, and a 3D stand with her symbol.

It is also better to fill out the legs with additional weights, so she can stand better (or optionally glue in magnets inside the boots and on the inner side of the stand), because of the high heel.

*Some of the pieces are fiddly and smaller, such as the boots and the hands, so I would not recommend it to people with no experience in human papercraft assemblies.

All of the Eternal Sailor Senshin are relative in height, taking into account their size in the anime, so all of the 10 released Sailor Moon papercraft fit together in size.

Lunacub (Arknights) papercraft commission

Lunacub (Arknights) papercraft commission

Another very demanding papercraft commission and another stunning craft. The commissioner wanted the character Lubacub in her “Clouds Float Like Ideas Of Art” skin from the game “Arknights”. So, I had to completely base it off of only 1 illustration of her skin, since the actual in-game sprites are chibis only.

This model now has has 7 UV-maps, made from 0 and hand drawn based off the picture =_= Took me probably again over 30 hours to make, starting with the model, then pose and then all the pieces of the texture, meticulously drawing one piece at a time and being as close to the model as I could.

The result is a truly stunning Lunacub papercraft model, unfolded to 40 cm (ca. 20 cm height for the girl sitting) and with 34 pages to print. It consists of a 3D model of Lunacub in her Clouds skin, with a bunch of 2D add-ons, 2 3D window stands to choose from, a separate 3D bow and arrow, and tons of bows and scarfs and what-nots.

Showing this papercraft because I am really happy with the result, since it was a very demanding recreation of a picture only, with a lot of small details that needed to be as close as possible to the reference. It was hard to make and I was losing my mind with all the edits, 100s of pieces, and the 35-degree heat currently here =_=”

But the end result is just like an PVC anime figure you can find in any anime shop. And I am also showing it because people can see what they can commission for themselves, if they want a custom papercraft/3D model made as well.
