As with all of my papercrafts, I start with the head. Face first, then the backside hair and the front bangs. Pretty simple so far. Then, I made the separate hoodie of the bear, with the ears and snout. Then again, separately made the 2 hairtails on the sides and then you have to glue these 3 parts together. This is the fiddliest part of the assembly really. You want to make it nice and sturdy, so what I did is first glued the tails on each side to the bear head, like it’s supposed to be, shown in the PDO file. Then, when the glue is dry, I put in some rolled-up curled paper bits that were left from my cut-out and jammed them neatly into the part where the tails and the bear head meet. That way, it’s super sturdy, the tails won’t break off and it holds in its place. Once that is done and also dry (since you want to put on some glue on the rolled-up paper so it really holds like a bomb), you can put in the head of Miku. Once it’s in place and inside the bear head with the tails, glue it in its place with the 2 flaps (as shown in the PDO, it’s all shown in the template, so no worries there). And you have the head done.

Now, move to make the separate paws of the hands first. The paws can both be made separately and the arms can be made separately, and gluing them together at the end, since it’s really simple to make them that way. Once you have the arms ready, then comes the second fiddly part. You have to take the head of Miku, gently flip it over and glue the 2 torso pieces on the neck part. It’s only fiddly because you have to work with the huge chibi head of Miku and turn it upside down, so you got to be careful not to use too much access force so you don’t smush it. Glue the 2 first torso parts on the neck of the head, and then glue on the 2 amrs. Once the arms are on, glue the remaining stripes of her dress with the upside down head and the fiddly parts are over.

It sounds really complicated, but once you make your own template and see that this way the head really is sturdily paced where it should be and nothing will fall off doing head first, you are gonna see it’s the correct way to go about assembling this. The only fiddly part is to really be gentle with it and glue them in place where the flaps are needed, really glue them on tight so it sits well. That’s the only thing.

Then, when you got ¾ of the craft made, all that are left are the legs. Do those by assembling the paws of the feet separately, and the 2 legs separately and then glue them together nice and easy, just like the arms. Once they are both assembled, glue them together with the bottom parts and her pants, and that’s done.

All you have to do now is glue the bottom leg part with the upper half of Miku with the head, and you got yourself a nice and cute Miku bear costume papercraft.

The whole papercraft probably took me about 14 hours to make. Not too hard to make, just mind the bobbly head by turning it around when assembling it on the body and make the tails sturdier from the inside with the rolled-up paper, and you’ll be fine.

Hope you like the little cutie, since I had to make at least 1 of my Hatsune Miku Vocaloid crafts, since I am a Vocaloid fan from the beginning, but never had time to make and of them :D At least now you get to see a chibi version made by me.

Enjoy and happy crafting~
