Pokekid (Pokemon) built papercraft

I made the premium template of this papercraft

quite some time ago, when the new game came out and I was really excited about the remake and everything. But I finally got around making it and I love her so much ;_; The Pikachu hoodie, the girl’s big round eyes, it’s all too adorable and it’s my new centerpiece in my papercraft display case.

The assembly itself was really fun. With all of my papercrafts, I started with the face and neck part, and then glued on the front bangs and the hair. – Note here that you actually don’t even need to glue the whole hair parts on there if you’ll leave the Pikachu hoodie on the head, because they are not seen at the end. Only, if you print-out the pages double-sided where you have the color of the hair at the back as well. I printed it them out 1-sided and it came out great anyway, so you have that option for the assembly, if you wish.

After the head is done, make the separate hoodie part, starting with both ears and then the hood. Once you have that, you can start making the hands and the arms separately. Then make the upper part of the torso, and glue the arms on there, and then the hoodie. Once it’s all set and dry, glue the remaining head inside the hoodie, and the upper part is complete. Additionally you can put rolled-up leftover paper from the cuts inside the neck part, so it really holds the head part up well, but it’s not necesairy, since it holds like this as well.

Then, when you got this all joined, flip the papercraft over, and glue the remaining torso part on there, finishing with the ruffles at the pants end and set that aside.

Next, we can make the 2D 2-sided tail, by gluing one side on a flat wire and gluing the opposite side on there, so the wire is in between. ***Pro-tip: Flat wire goes inside the tail to make it bendy and flexible, so you can move and pose it around at the end. This kind of wire can be found in any florist shop and are intended to tie the flowers on support stakes etc. Really easy to get, super cheap, and a GREAT tool for using in papercraft assembly :)

Once that is done, make a small incision with a scalpel knife on the already made torso at the back, where you want the tail to be places. Place the wire that is looking out of the edge of the tail inside, and glue that on the inside with a strong tape, like a small piece of duct tape. The tail will hold 100% and is easily movable as well.

All that is left to do are the legs. Make the left and right leg separately, glue the separate yellow bongs on the shoes as they are, and finish at the top where the inside of the pants is. Those inside parts are now each glued on the remaining flaps of the frills (everything visible and written down in the PDO assembly files, don’t worry) and closed and the papercraft is done. This part can be a bit fiddly, so take your time to glue each flap one by one to make it clean. Additionally here, you can add weights in either at the last step where you glue the legs on the pants frills, or leave the soles of the shoes off while making the legs and fill them then with weights and glue shut. Either way, the papercraft supports itself and should stand without any additional help as is.

There you go. My very own Pikachu Pokekid from the new Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes.

Lechonk (Pokemon S/V) FREE papercraft

Lechonk (Pokemon S/V) FREE papercraft

The new trailer came out today with more info about the new Scarlet/Violet Pokemon game, and what can I say. Like everybody hyping on the net the whole day, I love the chunky Lechonk and I HAD to make it first. Spent the whole day slaving away, because it is so adorable and that name XD I actually name my budgie “Chonk” from time to time when he makes something stupid, so it’s a perfect fit for me. Definitely getting it for my team, no matter the evolution or if it doesn’t have an evo. Love the chonk!
