And now it’s time to give you some pro-tips on how to make life simpler when building her yourself. Let’s go.

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

 With any of my papercrafts, you can divide the assembly into separate parts: the head with the hair, the 2 arms, the upper torso with the sleeves and kimono dress, the bucket with water, and the legs with the shoes.

If we start with the head, you assemble the face and neck first. Then you glue on the front hair, and lastly close it with the back hair. After this, you can glue on the 2D ears and 2-sided braid.

Next, you can separately build the 2 arms, with either the 2D or 3D hands (*Note that I did the preview pics with the 2D version of the hands). When you got those, set them aside and start gluing together the 2 sleeves first separately, then the upper torso. When you have the upper torso, glue the sleeves inside those and make the rest of the torso and dress. Only when you have this done and the torso glued together with the head, only then press the pre-made hands inside to glue them on the right angle inside the sleeves. And the torso is done.

And lastly, the legs. You do this part by assembling the legs from bottom to top and finish with the buttocks part. This means, build the shoes first, glue the leg from there upwards till you come to the butt. If you want her to stand nicely, best put some weights inside the legs before gluing it together.

All that is left is to do is to glue these parts now together. Glue the legs’ part inside the dress, making sure to glue them at the right angle, so the figure can stand comfortably. Glue together the simple bucket and put or glue in in her hands. And it's finished.

As you maybe remember, I already did some older Ranma½ papercrafts in reference of the old 1989 anime. You can see the old designs I made in a preview here:

And since the new remake anime came out, I decided to also remake my old papercrafts of the main characters in their glorious, fresh new looks!

 This is my new Female Ranma papercraft from the anime Ranma½.

The papercraft is unfolded to 24 cm and has 4 pages to print out. The papercraft consists of a 3D model of Ranma, optional 3D and 2D hand versions and her simple 3D bucket.

The papercraft stands on 2 feet, but it would be better to additionally reinforce the legs when assembled, so it can’t tip over that easily.

CatBurger (Simple version) OC built papercraft

So, what is this all about? As the name “Super simple papercrafts” suggests, it is a project of really simple papercrafts I make. Since I saw that many people are somewhat intimidated by my intricate designs and overall papercraft really, I wanted to show that it’s not the case and that I wanted to make an effort to make papercrafts available really for any kind of papercrafter, be it beginner, advanced or pro. I decided to address the issue and show that anybody can make papercrafts and therefore designed some fun crafts that REALLY ANYBODY CAN MAKE, super simple and really fast. But most of all, fun!

These papercrafts are simple in design regarding how many pieces there are, they are unfolded a bit bigger to make it simpler to assemble them, they have more detached (2D) pieces that you just make and glue on, and still look super sweet and adorable so anybody will want to make them.

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

Most parts are 2D anyway, so the other 3D parts, like the patty, the cucumbers, are really made the same way: take one side of the craft, glue the belt part with the flaps on the flat 2D side and then simply close it with the other flap part by putting glue on the left flaps. You basically glue it together like a box.

For the 2 buns for CatBurger, the upper head part you start by making the 2 ears and built it from top to bottom and at the end, you close it with the grilled bottom part. The bottom bun part you make by first gluing the bottom grill part to the first stripe and at the end you close it with the flat part. And you glue on the 2D 2-sided tail on last.

All of the parts are OPTIONAL and you can choose whatever ones to make your own CatBurger papercraft. And you can re-print them out to make even more, if you like.

Also, all of the 3D optional ingredients can be simply turned into 2D flat parts, by cutting away the middle stripe part, if you choose to make your burger even simpler.

The only real challenge to make here is to choose what ingredients to use in this. And if you can’t choose, why not make 2 or 3 different versions of it, each with different parts inside :)

Saw a challenge thing on DA about how to draw a Burger that looks like a cat, and got the idea to make my own version of “CatBurger – build your own burger papercraft” and in a SUPER SIMPLE VERSION :)

This papercraft is unfolded to a height of 24 cm and has 5 pages to print out with all of the optional parts. The burger itself should be anywhere from 5 to 12 cm high, depending on what ingredients you want to use for your very own CatBurger.

It consists of:

-          2 simple 3D buns (the upper one also having 3D cat ears) with 2D paws and a 2D 2-sided tail,

-          6 2D onions,

-          3 3D tomato slices,

-          a simple 3D sunny-side-up egg,

-          3 2D bacon slices,

-          ketchup,

-          4 3D pickle slices, 

-          2 2D cheese slices,

-          2 3D grilled patties,

-          2 2D salads,

-          and a either 2D 2-sided flag or a 2D 2-sided pickled olive as the topper.

All of the parts are OPTIONAL and you can choose whatever ones to make your own CatBurger papercraft. And you can re-print them out to make even more, if you like.

Also, all of the 3D optional ingredients can be simply turned into 2D flat parts, by cutting away the middle stripe part, if you choose to make your burger even simpler.

The only real challenge to make here is to choose what ingredients to use in this. And if you can’t choose, why not make 2 or 3 different versions of it, each with different parts inside :)

Old papercraft remake: Ojamajo Doremi

I have now been active in the papercraft community for probably over 20 years and in the selling/commission business for probably over +15 years now, since I don’t have an exact date really, but a pretty long time. And in the last years, I have been consciously improving my skills and making papercrafts more exciting and better-looking than the ones I did at the start. So, in the last few weeks (because my birthday is coming soon), I have been looking at some of my past papercraft designs and decided to make a little update on an old papercraft I did from one of my fav childhood anime I loved so much: Ojamajo Doremi!

A lovely anime and a nice little project I have been working on for myself, since I really love the characters so much :D

You can see the old papercraft I did of her from 2016 on the left side (and that I have since removed from my gallery, as well as over 100 of old designs as well, since they were not up to my standard anymore and I was not happy sharing or selling them anymore). And the problems, at least from my side, are pretty clear as of why I don’t like it anymore. But it serves as a teaching tool, so I decided to put up the pics again so you can see what a difference 6 years of hard work can make. Since on the right side, you have a little sneak-peek of the new design I did of Doremi and you’ll be able to compare it with the new, improved design very soon as well :)

              

For those interested in the differences I am talking about, and some general tips on how to make papercraft models look 100-times better and be more fun to assemble as well, I have made a small update on that here:

I have had tons of old designs of papercrafts I had to discard from my gallery, so I am actually curious if people still remember them and if you have any wishes to see them as well. So, my questions for the viewers would be:

·         What old papercrafts that you remember me making would you like to see being remade?

·         Do you want any of the old designs I removed to actually be available to download as FREE versions?

·         Or do you have any favorites you want to see being made from scratch in my style?

Sexy catgirl papercraft

Quite unusual papercraft to find on my page, huh? XD Well it was actually made for a commission, so the idea was from the reference illustration found online from the commissioner. HOWEVER, I did get the get-go to re-sell the papercraft for anybody interested, so here she is in all her half-naked glory.

     

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 26 cm altogether, so the catgirl is about 23 cm tall. She has quite some small intricate parts, such as the toes on her bare feet, and the fingers of course. The hair may look extremely difficult, but it’s actually just stripes you glue on the head, so it has the effect of hair strands that way, but is super easy to make. The black shirt with the deep cleavage is 2-sided and has a torso with “anatomically correct” boobies underneath XD (Yeah, what can I do, beauty is beauty, and what is more beautiful than the female body). Apart from that, you have the hat with the cat ears on them, which can be slid on or off, since it fits the head perfectly. Then you also have some details such as the belt with the belt buckle (that resembles a cat tail) and the stand. The cat stand has a bulge where you fit the standing leg in so it holds it in place, and the second leg is supported by the black wooden stool as well. That way the papercraft can stand easily without support, but weights can also be added in the feet to be extra sure.

As said, the papercraft is 100% made by me. I re-drawn the face from the reference picture, since it had to be as similar to the picture as possible and the cat face was an idea from another reference on the internet. UV-maps and textures are made and drawn by me with my own 2 hands. As are all of the papercrafts I make.

        

A bit of a different approach to papercrafts that I wanted to show, even if it is a bit “controversial”. But I do like the beauty and elegance of her, so I was happy to have designed her. And to prove that I can really make any commission happen, no matter what the idea or the reference. Even if it’s an anime illustration found online.
