New PC, some time off, free papercraft downloads

 Hello beautiful people!

Heads up that my work PC recently broke down and I am currently transferring all of my programs and stuff I am working with and on, on a new laptop. It will take some time to set it up, and it´s the summer time anyway, not much going on.

I therefore decided to close commissions foreseeable till the beginning of September. That way I can get some much needed rest and set up my new rig in peace. (I will also go on vacation in the middle of September, so that week I also won´t be working, but that will get updated in another post when the time is right).

For anybody wanting to order or inquire a commission, these will be open starting September again, so you´ll have to wait in the meantime.

The work will pile up anyway and since I said I will prioritize my health over anything else, the work is slower but therefore the way it should be and more quality-rich. The backlog on things I made months ago is also, finally, depleting, so there might be weeks that I will not have anything to post as new stuff. And that is completely OK.

I am only 1 person working on these huge projects, papercrafts take time and dedication, as anybody ever working on an assembly alone knows, and you need a lot of patience and time for them. No machine is ever going to replace the work I put into my papercraft designs, and I will never use AI stolen slop in 2D or 3D form. The work I do stays manual and it always will, therefore taking much time to make them. If you do not like the way I work or think, you may happily choose another papercraft designer and enjoy their work or do your own designs (:
The way I do things, is the way I do things, and I will never support stolen AI crap they are shoving into our faces as “necessary work evolution” and destroying the only beautiful natural resources for us to life on and off of, the one actual evolution that took millions of years to develop and they think because they have their “money” concept we somehow value and live by, they can destroy it in a few decades. FU alllll the way!

In the meantime, we have almost 10 batches of freebies (now over 27 new free papercrafts + 160 old ones) I have been posting on my Patreon page for this summer: https://www.patreon.com/antyyyspapercrafts. They are all freely accessible without needing any subscriptions, login or anything else, just find the post, click the ZIP and download it.

I´ll be sure to keep the page running, and more awesome ideas and characters are on their way, so no worries. Nobody is stopping Antyyy from doing papercrafts, ever!!! Papercrafts are my life!!! If they didn´t stop me for 15 years, they surely won´t now.

Enjoy and happy crafting~

I have started distributing more FREE papercrafts on my Patreon page:

 https://www.patreon.com/antyyyspapercrafts

My Patreon page is exclusively for FREE papercraft downloads only, so each of them are all freely accessible without needing any subscriptions, login or anything else, just find the post, click the ZIP and download it.

****************

I am sharing updated with the “status update” thing on DA, but as everything on there, it’s a useless feature nobody looks at anyway, so people miss the posts. That’s why I made a quick update to remind people that they are up and ready for assembly!

Till now we have the following freebies: Callowing (Fakemon), Fearesa (Fakemon), Beelzebub (Sand Land), Appletun (Pokemon), Bellossom (Pokemon), OC Avocado pair, Abomasnow (Pokemon), Chespin snowman (Pokemon), Froakie snowman (Pokemon), Pikachu Snowfairy (Pokemon), Gookey (Pokemon), Scorbunny (Pokemon), Sobble (Pokemon), and Ramby (Fakemon).

*****************************

Also, PLEASE REMEMBER, papercrafts are made to be ASSEMBLED and enjoyed while being displayed in your rooms, given as gifts, etc. The point of them is that you are able to make figurines out of flat print paper templates, and transform those flat paper parts into amazing figures that you yourselves make with your own 2 hands and be proud of the art you are able to do and that they make you happy. And not for collecting digital dust on your PCs for trades, hoarding, or anything like that. If they are not enjoyed in their full forms and build, what is even the point in having them, right? -- That’s why I hope to see many of them being shared as assembled and build papercrafts online on many platforms. You can also send me pictures of them in a message, so I can share and display them on my pages in your name. I would love that! I am always so happy to see pictures of them brought to life! (:

****************

The bunch of free papercrafts I am sharing was already over +150 designs big, and now I am adding even more of them! Hopefully you’ll find something you like and have a great summer. Many more to come in the following months as well!!!

Enjoy and happy crafting~

How to open PDO, Assembly help for my papercrafts

With all of my official papercraft files, free or paid, you get 2 types of files for assembly: PDF files that you print out in various types (colored and colorless flaps, as well as the lined and lineless versions) and a locked, blank PDO file.

The PDO file is THE main assembly instruction. It is a program with a 3D preview of the papercraft that lets you see how to put the parts together and how it looks assembled. This is THE assembly tutorial and it’s all that you need to build any of them.

*********************

The PDO file is a file opened with Pepakura (Tamasoft) and can be opened by either buying their Pepakura designer:

https://pepakura.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura_designer/download/

Using a web viewer online (also recommended for Mac users):

https://papercraft-maker.com/

Using ArmorSmith viewer (recommended for Smartphone users):

https://www.armoredgarage.com/

or using my FREE stand-alone PDO-viewer to open the file (recommended, because it will show you the added assembly animation):

https://mega.nz/file/PwMGlRTR#P26cUauteEdr4-yd5F2oT5mn6IQzdGjZfS-gsKI8s2w

*********************

The PDO Pepakura (Tamasoft) file has an “animation” function that lets you see how the cut parts are put together and folded, so it’s the nr.1 help-file for all of my assemblies. Learn to use it, and you’ll never want to make a papercraft without one (; This is also why no papercraft of mine has a "tutorial" in a traditional sense of picture screenshots or assembly videos. THAT IS WHY you have the PDO FILE INCLUDED. It literally shows you everything in depth and with precision.

*********************

Here is a tutorial explaining how to actually use the program and what it lets you do. It shows an older version, but the basic principles on how it shows what flap needs to be glued together and the edge ID numbers are the same. Just ignore the old links that don't work anymore in there and focus on the Pepakura Viewer display itself:

AND most importantly, you can also enable an "animation" sequence, that shows you the unfolded parts and how they are put together to make the finished papercraft model at the end. Very useful if you have a bit of trouble with 3D perception and also fun to play with:

*********************

Note that all of my password locked PDO files are LOCKED FOR A REASON. MEANING THAT ALL OF MY PDO FILES ARE VIEW ONLY. YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE FULL FILES TO EDIT THEM WITH A PASSWORD; EVER!

I never share the original 3D model (just the template, because you are buying the unfolded printable template only), the textures are basic, and the UV-maps for texturing are scrambled and unusable for editing. Do not ask me for any password for any of them, because you won’t get it.

*********************

If you would like for any papercraft I made to be re-sized (made bigger or smaller), you can WRITE ME about that. I have no problem editing the height of any papercraft in reasonable margins, so you don’t need a password for any of them.

How to open my locked PDO files for papercraft assembly help

I have recently noticed that TamaSoft (the company that made Pepakura for unfolding papercrafts) stopped distributing the "Pepakura Viewer", which is needed to open the locked PDO files that come along my papercrafts. They can't be opened with the "Pepakura Designer" (that they are still distributing), since I only share blank and locked papercraft files.

Therefore, I have a standalone version of the program that you can use to open the "PDO" files that come along for the assembly help. You can download the file here:

Let me know if it works for you or if there are any issues with it. Enjoy and happy crafting~
