Goemon (Lupin III) papercraft commission

Another interesting papercraft commission I can share. This is “Goemon” from the really, really early and old Lupin movies, where he has a very distinct profile and design, since they completely change him in the later anime and movies as well. The commissioner wanted him in his cross-legged sitting pose, with the katana inside his hands, hands also crossed in the sleeves of the kimono. A somewhat difficult pose and especially the design of the hair, since the early 80s, 90s anime had “impossible” hair as I call it, because it cannot be 100% converted into a 3D model, because the different angles don’t line up in real at all XD but I somehow managed to make him look like in the screenshots (considering that even in the movie itself every drawn frame of Goemon is also completely different XD). Got to love retro anime.

The result is a truly cool-looking sitting Goemon, with 3D and optional 2D hands. The arms and legs are made so they slide inside the kimono in the end, so it’s 1. easier to assemble and 2. the parts don’t overlap. The katana is also separate and 3D, and it has a 3D separate scabbard to put it inside.

The whole thing is unfolded to 45 cm, since the commissioner wanted it to be bigger. So it has a whooping 30 pages to print out with all the parts.

Showing this papercraft because I am really happy with the result. And I am also showing it because people can see what they can commission for themselves if they want a custom papercraft/3D model made as well.

Hope you like him and this classic anime as well XD And I hope I get to see assembly pictures and I get to share them on here for you to see. Really curious how it’s going to look.

Enjoy and happy crafting~
