Well, since the new app “Pokemon Friends” came out a few weeks ago, I gave it a try. The game is absolute gacha nightmare pay-for-everything-in-it predatory crap 1000%, BUT the plush designs in it are really adorable!!! So, I decided to make my own version of a Pikachu doll.

As you know, I have a Pikachu doll as my icon ever since I started my hobby and business, but no doll to download anymore, because it was based on an actual game design of it. And I don’t do that anymore, all of my 3D models the papercrafts are based on are now always made 100% by me, mesh-polygon-texture-pose. And since I consider myself being on a different and better papercraft/designer level than I was years ago as I started, I needed to do another Pikachu doll papercraft design to make my icon make sense, at least (:
***********************
The papercraft is unfolded to 14 cm and has 3 pages to print out. It is loosely based off of the “Pokemon friends” design, but I wanted to make a better texture for it.
It consists of a 3D model of Pikachu with a separate 3D body, with ears, hands and feet, separate eyes buttons, a separate tag, and a separate 3D tail that fits on its back. So, you glue together the body with the tag on the side, both eyes, the 2D tag and tail separately, and then glue on the tail on its back and the eyes on the face, and it’s done.
