ASSEMBLY TIPS:

With any of my papercrafts, you can divide the assembly into separate parts: the head with the neck, the arms, the upper torso, the legs with the butt, and the various 2D add-ons.

If we start with the head, you can choose the 2D or 3D versions (note that I did the preview pics with the 2D version of the head/hair). You assemble the 2 bunny ears first and set them aside. Then start making the head from the top, adding in the ears in the holes and closing it with the neck. Head, done.

Next you can separately build the 2 arms, with either the 2D or 3D version hands (note that I did the preview pics with the 2D version of the hands). When you got those, set them aside and start gluing together the first few rows of the torso. You glue now this on the head and neck part you did before, then glue on the 2 arms inside the arm holes at the right angle and build the shirt to the beginning of the shorts and that’s done.

Next step is to make the legs. You do this part by assembling the legs from bottom to top and finish with the buttocks part. Then glue all the leg part inside the shirt part again and the 3D figure is done. I also suggest adding some weights inside the boots to make her stand nicely.

All that is left is to add the add-ons, the backpack, and the 3D or 2D swords (again, note that I did the preview with the 2D swords). And it is done.

*The papercraft was done with the old design of Fionna that was shown as a counterpart to Finn in the “Adventure time” series, and not with the somewhat changed design in the actual “Fionna and Cake” spinoff series. So, some details are a bit older and in reference of the original cartoon.

There she is. The amazing Fionna! What started out as s spin-off gender-bender idea from the main cartoon “Adventure time”, finally got its own cartoon series called “Fionna and Cake”.

While it may have undergone some changes of Fionna herself, the cartoon continues where Adventure time ended all those years ago, and it’s a really nostalgic and different type and feel than the average cartoon you’ll ever see. I think it has a more grown-up adulty feel about it, and it speaks to me on a different level, so I definitely suggest watching it if you want a new outlook on life itself.

          

As for the papercraft, I decided to go with a few options here. Since a lot of people complain how papercrafts are hard to do, I decided to start making crafts with 2 versions: a harder, 3D version of parts and a simpler, 2D version of parts.

We have the 3D model of Fionna. She has a 3D as well as a 2D version of the front hair/head, a 3D or 2D version of her hands and a 3D or 2D version of her swords. I decided to go with a mix of the older + newer version of Fionna, which is a bit different than the old one, and I also made her new sword seen in the opening and her old crystal sword as well, so you can choose those. And then we also have an optional simple 3D stand and her 3D backpack as well.

The whole papercraft is unfolded to 22 cm and has 6 pages to print out, including all the options.
