D Compose (Inhumanoids) papercraft commission

Who remembers the cartoon Inhumanoids? Well, I sure as hell don't XD I can't be watching all the 80s and 90s cartoons and anime from way back, but looking back it does look like one of those awesome old action animations I would love to watch everyday. Getting these kind of commissions makes me re-discover some of these old gems and reminiscence about the good ol' golden age of animation. Just look up the cartoon and you'll see for yourself, it's an awesome piece of cartoon history!

Well, as a commission I can share this time is one the main antagonists of the story, called „D'Compose“. The name alone is such a funny joke in itself XD

The commissioner wanted a life size papercraft figure of him (well, not really life size but suuuuper big non-the-less). So, the papercraft is unfolded to 2 meters height and has I don't even know how many pages to print out, since the one assembling these in the end has his own process of making them with special reinforced paper, etc.

The main features here would be his crocodile-dinosaur shaped skull with red eyes and red teeth, and his ribcage with his rotting insides looking out of them! A real nasty piece of work, half-rotten and his skin sagging and oozing and melting away, such as the esthetic of all the older cartoon villains was! And I love it XD

BACKGROUND STORY:

As many of you know and still remember, DeviantArt has been a huge art site ever since it started in 2000. It was a great site for actual ART and actual ARTIST making their thing and posting and getting their stuff out and making a name for themselves. But ever since 2020, when the devil called Wix bought this domain and took over, DeviantArt is a sham and husk of what it once was.

The community turned to sh*t, the site is pure sh*t, it’s unusable and basic functions have been locked behind paywalls, all the while they are selling every last bit of their actual artists on here to AI crap and making it an unusable garbage to find anything on.

In these last months that they have even locked the basic download function of the site, it has become clear to everybody still struggling in this sinking dumpster fire hellhole, that our bellowed DA is drowning big time, and we all have the feeling that the site will completely shut down soon, since they are getting desperate and trying to milk everybody for the last bucks they can get from us.

I mean, who would have thought that actually NOT listening to the fanbase of artists making up this site to the glorious thing it was before all this would be a BAD IDEA. Huh. Really weird. It’s like corpo actually listening to people complaining about 1000 problems on here and more since Wix made it sh*t would help elevate this crapshoot to a somewhat decent site again. It’s like actually people using the site makes the site good and Wix just making everything unusable and full of AI and porn which 99% of artist on here HATED would make it unpopular to the degree it is now. Weird.

Long story short, DA is sh*t, it’s dying, nobody wants to use it because it’s just AI and porn and disgusting fetish trash. Everybody get your backup stuff now if you still haven’t gotten everything. And good luck to us all trying to establish our businesses and hobbies on other sites in the future.

Another sexy papercraft commission I can share the preview of. This is the so-called “Miko bikini girl” papercraft, an OC papercraft girl that was referenced by the 1 and only picture made of her. The picture is actually famous, because the bikini from the illustration was then actually made into a real-life bikini clothing that year. Pretty neat, huh?

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 30 cm and has 7 pages to print (5 of them being double-sided prints). It consists of a 3D model of the naked Miko girl, and then you have the add-on white Miko-inspired bikini with the red dress. The papercraft girl has detailed and full nude textures.

Another papercraft commission I can share, and this time it’s “Jack Atlas”!

        

A pretty straightforward papercraft actually, consisting of a whole 3D model of Jack, his wavy 2D 2-sided cape and his custom-designed 3D duel disk with cards and some smaller 2D add-ons.

It’s unfolded to 36,5 cm and has 13 pages to print. The head is quite difficult, such as all those Yu-Gi-Oh papercraft commissions, since the anime hair is spike-crazy designed :D

Betty (Yo soy Betty, la fea) papercraft commission

Another open commission I can show all of you. This is the original Betty character, from the telenovela »Yo soy Betty, la fea«, which is the first spin-off of countless other popular telenovelas of this kind to follow: Ugly Betty (which is the English spin-off), Grda račka (which is the Slovene spin-off, and people in the 90s were crazy for in my country), and 100 of more with a similar take on the story XD

        

The papercraft commission was based on the 1 image shown as reference in the preview and was drawn by Laroxbox you can find and follow on Instagram. I made the version a bit lighter than the original image and tried to somehow leave the 2D vibe of it with the texturing. It’s unfolded to 25 cm and has 8 pages to print.

If I get the pictures of the finished papercraft, I will definitely share it with all of you. It’s a simple-looking papercraft on the surface, yet it has quite some smaller details to make, such as the 3D separate earrings and those small ears and hands. And I definitely suggested making the 2D glasses with see-though foil to make it look like real glass, the same way I made my Riko (Made in Abyss) papercraft as well.

   

Hope you like it; sharing because I want people to see that anything can be made into a papercraft, even if it’s based just off of 1 illustration you find on the internet.
