Times are hard, sh*t is going down, the world is a bad place, and we need to stick together and make it better, starting by being kinder to people around you and supporting designers and artists that make your hobbies possible and that bring you joy in such tough times. It’s hard for everybody, especially if you are financially supporting yourself with any kind of artform in 2026, so support your actual artists and designers that you like and show them your love, ESPECIALLY since it’s so hard right now. “Just” a nice, encouraging comment can go a long way, you don’t even know how much.

BACKGROUND STORY:

As many of you know and still remember, DeviantArt has been a huge art site ever since it started in 2000. It was a great site for actual ART and actual ARTIST making their thing and posting and getting their stuff out and making a name for themselves. But ever since 2020, when the devil called Wix bought this domain and took over, DeviantArt is a sham and husk of what it once was.

The community turned to sh*t, the site is pure sh*t, it’s unusable and basic functions have been locked behind paywalls, all the while they are selling every last bit of their actual artists on here to AI crap and making it an unusable garbage to find anything on.

In these last months that they have even locked the basic download function of the site, it has become clear to everybody still struggling in this sinking dumpster fire hellhole, that our bellowed DA is drowning big time, and we all have the feeling that the site will completely shut down soon, since they are getting desperate and trying to milk everybody for the last bucks they can get from us.

I mean, who would have thought that actually NOT listening to the fanbase of artists making up this site to the glorious thing it was before all this would be a BAD IDEA. Huh. Really weird. It’s like corpo actually listening to people complaining about 1000 problems on here and more since Wix made it sh*t would help elevate this crapshoot to a somewhat decent site again. It’s like actually people using the site makes the site good and Wix just making everything unusable and full of AI and porn which 99% of artist on here HATED would make it unpopular to the degree it is now. Weird.

Long story short, DA is sh*t, it’s dying, nobody wants to use it because it’s just AI and porn and disgusting fetish trash. Everybody get your backup stuff now if you still haven’t gotten everything. And good luck to us all trying to establish our businesses and hobbies on other sites in the future.

VK1602 (Ash Arms) papercraft commission

VK1602 (Ash Arms) papercraft commission

Another sexy papercraft commission I can share the preview of. This one is called »VK1602« and it's the tank made into an anime girl design XD to each their own, I guess. In any case, this version is with her blouse only, though I don't think it was directly from the game, but I could be wrong. I make what the commissioner wants and here she is.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 22 cm and has 5 pages to print out.

It consists of a 3D model of the naked VK1602, and then you have optional add-ons. The add-ons are her blouse, the bow in her hair and the 2D 2-sided tail.  

Each of the add-ons fit onto the papercraft directly, so the base VK1602 can be clothed with any of the options included. And since it’s a somewhat tilted pose and with bare feet, the stand is also included so it can either be glued on or put on with magnets.

Elsa (War Thunder) papercraft commission

Another sexy papercraft commission I am sharing as a preview. This is Elsa from the War thunder x Senrai Miaden collab release in the game. The game, as far as I saw, only has tanks in them, so there isn’t even a girl design for them, just in the trailers and preview pictures for ads. So, I designed the girl as a mix of the preview pics from the trailer and another reference picture for the overall style and pose.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 29 cm and has 6 pages to print out.

It consists of a 3D model of the naked Elsa girl, and then you have an optional add-on leotard/pants/jacket to fit her and a lot of optional add-on items, such as her binoculars, straps, etc. The hair also has additional 2D straps to glue on the 3D hair, because of the difficult pose at the back, and optional double-sided pages for the hair, so it can be colored on both sides.

What papercraft should I focus on next?

I got so much projects open, very little time, and have lost the plot. I sometimes have so much ideas, I don’t even know where to start. So, this is where you come in.

I decided to make a small interactive poll to see what my viewers would be the most interested in seeing as a short-term papercraft project. All of these are somewhat open or half-finished concepts, ideas and 3D models I will do in the future, but since I can’t decide what to focus on first, I need the polls help!

Crow Hogan (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's) papercraft commission

Another papercraft commission I can share, and this time it’s “Crow Hogan” from the “Yu-Gi-Oh” universe. 

       

A pretty straightforward papercraft actually, consisting of a whole 3D model of Crow, his simple sleeveless jacket, a custom-designed 3D duel disk with cards and some smaller 2D add-ons.

It’s unfolded to 35 cm and has 11 pages to print. The head is a bit more difficult to make, such as all those Yu-Gi-Oh papercraft commissions, as well as the hands, because of the smaller parts. But nothing too serious if you want to assemble it yourself.

Boss Borot (Mazinger Z) papercraft commission

Boss Borot (Mazinger Z) papercraft commission

This! This baby is from a whooping 50-year-old anime that I bet nobody remembers, since the original one, including this mecha, came out in 1972! Damn, that’s an old anime XD Of course I am talking about the grandfather of all mecha anime that came after, the one and only “Mazinger Z” series.

           

This badass is called “Boss Borot”, officially Boss Robot then. The color-palette as well as the design is really uniquely 70s, 80s style Japanese anime, the contrasting colors as well as the unusual look really brings back nostalgia, so it was really fun designing this whole thing (as well as challenging, because 1. I really don't do mechas at all 2. The pose had to be really linear, because it has to stand as a huge height and be really grounded and 3. You only got the 50-year-old anime to go on as reference, and the damn angles keep shifting and the proportions changing, so you got no idea how it actually looks like 100% XD had to go with my guts here).

The papercraft itself is a “lifesize” papercraft. Not really lifesize, since it’s probably 100 meters high in the anime, but it was unfolded to 2 meters! I could really go crazy with the details here, more than with the normal 20-30 cm unfolds, so loved that. Needless to say that, of course as ALL OF MY PAPERCRAFRS I SELL, I have modeled, posed, textured and unfolded it myself! 100% Antyyy, baby!

It’s going to be a HUUUGE thing, with many awesome details and a hella lot of work to do as well. Can’t wait to see this beast being done for the end of the year ceremony the commissioner has every time. Look forward to that and I’ll surely update the links when the preview is available.
