I got itchy fingers and wanted to do some Pokemon papercrafts again, since those were the motive to get me started into papercrafts all those years back. But none of the designers making Pokecrafts actually take the time to make their own textures or models (which is really sad, because the original models, no matter what, have an absolute crappy texture quality…), so I wanted to take my time to make my own models and textures and make something special. - And I was thinking, and thinking, and then I saw an adorable illustration of various dog Pokemon on FB, carrying their cubs in their mouths, and I said to myself I wanted to do a mother-child motive with exactly that, so here it is :)
The papercraft consist of a 3D model of a baby Rockruff and its mother Lycanroc carrying it in her mouth. Both models are separately made and the cub is then glued on the mouth at the loose skin part and there you go. I did calculate the weight and angle of the 2 parts, so there should be no problem gluing the smaller Pokemon on the bigger one, since it should hold and stand just fine.
The premium papercraft template is unfolded to 18 cm and consists of 7 pages to print. It is a bit more complicated because of the various pointy fur parts, but with a bit of concentration and determination it can be made with no problems. If it’s more complicated to make, it’s gonna look better in the end, so a bit of effort is always worth it with papercrafts (if they are done the right way) ;)
***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***
Hope you like the 2 cuties and that gives a bit of a spark in the papercraft community to try a bit of a different approach to Pokemon papercrafts in general and what can be made in terms of motives as well as execution.
Enjoy and happy crafting~
