I made my sumer Pikachu in the style of “Pokemon Love It's Demo” template already:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Pokemon-Love-Its-Demo-Pikachu-papercraft-918426696

so now it's time to post the assembled papercraft as well :)

:bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue:

The papercraft itself is made up out of different separated parts: a 3D Pikachu female with a 2D 2-sided pink tail, the 3D swim tube, the 3D sea stand, the 3D glass and drink, the 2D heart-shaped glasses, the 3D parasol and the 2D pink flower. All of them can be assembled separate each and added on as an extra, but the main parts are the Pikachu and the swim tube, since the back is bent to fit into the tube.

Since there is always a PDO included, it's not really interesting to explain how to assemble each of them, since it's pretty apparent from the instructions and most of the things are 2D. Maybe the most important part is the female Pikachu itself.

Basically the best way is to start with both ears, feet and hands – build all of those parts separately first, and then start attaching the ears on the head, making and gluig the parts as you go along the body, from top to bottom.

Once you get to the part where you also attach the 2 feet at the bottom, make the 2D tail first before closing the craft. Why? *Pro-tip: Use flat wire and glue it inside the tail, so the wire is in the middle of both sides and it can move and bend in any way, while leaving half of the wire out of the tail, so you can glue it on the inside of the Pikachu body. That way the tail is freely movable and looks good as well (Same can also be done to pose the parasol, since the white handle is hollow – put wire inside it to make it stand or bend to the degree you think looks best, while leaving half of the wire outside the handle to bend it into a circle and make it stand like that. It's the same way I made my parasol stand in the preview pictures as well).

Once you have the tail wire glued inside the body, all you have to do is close is with the last piece of the template that has no flaps on it, and the female Pikachu is done.

Hope you like the pictures and that it inspires you to either assemble a papercraft yourself or go on a relaxing swim in the ocean or any water for that matter. Sumers are just no fun without swimming,  else it's too hot to even blink :D

Enjoy and happy crafting~

Pokemon Love Its Demo Pikachu papercraft

The so-called “Pokemon Love Its Demo” is a very, very unique Campaign started by the Pokemon Centers selling all kinds of merch. I actually encountered this brand when I visited Japan the first time and I didn’t even know it existed until then. Needless to say I immediately fell in love with these special cute Pokemon designs. They have stickers, notebooks, boxes, plushies, but most awesome of all, Pokemon cosmetics, since the main character is the female Pikachu that has a special pink heart design not found in any games or anime.

And since the summer started already (over 35°C here already and sweating like a pig) and I need to make at least a few Pikachu papercrafts a year for myself to keep me happy XD (yeah, I am a total Pikachu freak, why do you think I chose a Pikachu logo for my papercraft brand?), I though of making this unique pink girly Pikachu in a swim tube and a cute diorama to go along with the summer, sun and sea vibes.

The papercraft is unfolded to 17 cm and has 12 pages to print. It consists of many 3D separate parts, such as the sea stand, the female Pikachu with a 2D tail, a cocktail, the parasol, the cute 2D 2-sided heart glasses and the swim tube. Most of the smaller parts are optional, but the idea was that the Pikachu is lying inside the swim tube, since she fits perfectly inside.

The Pikachu itself is fairly easy to make, there are just a lot of pieces since I unfolded it a bit bigger and she has a lot of optional stuff for her to wear. The tail, again with most of my Pikachu papercraft designs, is 2D 2-sided, so it can be glued on a flat wire to make it movable and easily attached.

I will definitely make this cutie myself to show you the end-result when it’s done. Already have it printed out, but no time to assemble all the stuff I got, the day only has 24 hours sadly XD I bet you’ll love it as much as I do and do take a look at this cutish brand of theirs. They have so much amazing stuff ;_;

Enjoy and happy crafting
