Pokopia Ditto (Pokemon) papercraft

Anybody living on this planet and being online in the last year knows about the new banger Pokemon game “Pokopia”. SoOo0 awesome, so0Ooo unique, so fun, hours and hours of fun; and I HATE it XD I despise the minecraft-esque pixel imitation of world building games so much, I hate each and every one of those games trying to emulate the pixelated DOS games from my childhood! >_< I can’t lie, what can I do. HOWEVER, I adore the new Pokemon designs, although they are somewhat sad and dystopian from the game, but they are new and fun, so I can appreciate that. AND I also like to make things that other people love and what makes them happy, so what better papercraft than the Pokopia human Ditto from the game!

**************

The papercraft is unfolded to 11 cm and has 4 pages to print out.

It consists of a 3D model of the human female Ditto. The Ditto has a separate simple 3D head and torso, separate legs with shoes you glue on the inside of the torso, a 3D backpack, a simple hat, and simple 3D attachments for the 2D 2-sided hand options, so it’s easy to make.

The papercraft has optional poses for the 2D hands you can choose from, 3 hair forms, a mouth closed and open face option, and then you have 7 different colors for each part, just as the customization from the start of the game. Obviously I could not add all of the colors and parts, so I chose what ones look kinda cute and all that.

The arms include: normal hands down, waving hands, fists, leafage wines and rock smash red gloves.

The hair includes braids, tails and you can leave those 2 out and make a basic male version hairdo as well. The hair colors include: blond, black, pinkish, brown, dark green, cyan blue and purple.

The hat, torso, backpack, legs and shoes have the following colors: yellow, cyan, dark blue, green, red and purple.

The idea of all of these options is to choose the color of the part you want and build it in. The ZIP files comes with 7 different PDF options to print out, each color group in the same PDF file to print out, so it’s up to you to find the option that looks best for you (:

Peakychu (Pokopia) built papercraft

Pokemon Pokopia is out, and I already made the Peakychu variant as a template:

And now you can also see the assembly preview and tips.

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

As with all of my papercrafts, you start from top and build to bottom.

Assemble the 2 ears separately and then start making the top of the head, attach the 2 ears on and make the whole head to the edge of the neck.

When you have the head, make the 2 arms and 2 legs separately. Make the 2D tail as well (Pro tip: You can put some wire inside the tail before you glue both parts together, so it can stand better and it can be posed as well) and set all of these aside for later.

Now start assembling the torso onto the pre-made head till you get the 2 holes for the arms, and glue those inside. Build the torso downwards a bit more till you are only left with the bottom part and the legs. At this point, make a small incision on the back side to stick the tail into the torso and glue the tail from the inside onto the torso with some tape, so it can move freely.

All that is left is to glue on the last bottom parts of the torso and when you have the 2 holes for the feet left, glue them inside. Close the whole craft with the soles of the feet (Pro tip: Put some weights inside through the feet holes at the end if you want to make it stand better) and it’s done.
