Lyria (Granblue Fantasy) papercraft

Lyria (Granblue Fantasy) papercraft

Maybe you saw the »Guess the character contest« I posted some time ago... Anyway, nobody guessed it correctly… so it's finally revealed time for all of you who wondered who it was XD It's no other than the main heroine of the anime/manga/game »Granblue Fantasy« the gorgeous »Lyria« ;)

The game is actually hugely popular in Japan for quite some years now, a lot of merch and ads about the game also when I was in Japan years back and it’s still going strong. So, I thought I would make a tribute to the anime that also came out not long ago and already ended, and I tried to make her looks based on the anime really.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 30 cm and has 11 pages to print. It’s actually quite detailed, not only in model parts and accessories, but also with the texture, since as already told with the reveal, I took my sweet time with it and really tried to make the most of the details and colors.

The papercraft basically consist of a 3D model of Lyria, where the hair is 2-sided and really long, since she has such beautiful long hair in the anime and game, so that’s gonna take time with the assembly, because you want to place each strip of hair neatly and bent it a bit so it’s nice and wavy-looking like flowing hair. Apart from that she has a nice flowy 2-sided dress, and a lot of separate accessories: 3D simple sandals with 2D stripes (which are optional to make, though she stands better with the sandals on), her 2D 2-sided jewel on her chest with the 3D blue jewel in the middle, her 2D golden gloves that are put around her arms when building them separately, and her 2D bracelet on her leg and arm.

All in all, some accessories may be small to make, but they are all flat 2D pieces to cut out like that. Other issues may be that you have to make sure she can stand when assembled, so I definitely suggest adding weights inside the legs so she really has a hold, and maybe wire for the flowy hair, depending how strong and thick the paper is you are printing on. So, on an assembly difficulty scale of 10, I would give it a 7.

***This is a premium papercraft that you need to purchase in order to receive the PDF and blank PDO files for assembly. – You can find all information about the PayPal purchase in the provided upper outgoing link.***
