Who doesn't know about the new anime hype called »Cyberpunk: Edgerunners«. Because let me tell you, if you don't know about it, you better start researching and watching it, because this story is dope!
It’s a short 10-episode anime adaptation from the Cyberpunk game and it’s about the main character called “David Martinez”, a 16-year-old kid with the burden of this world on his shoulders for being born poor and about his soul-crushing journey and life in the very possible future for us humans. It’s a doozey and it gives you a lot to think about where the future and technology and more even, where human interaction is going and how we need to change this to not get that ending for us all. A lot of this f*ed up things get considerably downplayed by David, since he is used to this kind of crap happening around him already, but it was gut-wrenching for me to even think about this situation and how it could very well become the new “normal” for us all in a few years. DEFINETLY, watch it, reflect on it and learn from it! It’s one of the best anime of this year and I love it, no matter how sick and twisted it is!
Because of this reason, and because people are probably only going to focus on the naked sexy girls and sex scenes in the anime and other designers focusing on the pretty women characters in there (which isn’t the point the story is trying to tell you at all), I decided to focus on the true anti-hero of the story, David Martinez himself, and making him into an awesome papercraft he deserves to remember his legacy, even if fictional.
The premium papercraft is unfolded to about 22 cm, since he has that fluffy, spiky, stand-up-ish hair, and has 4 pages to print out. It consists of a full 3D model of David himself, with 3D hair (so that’s a big fiddly to make), and his ad-on optional yellow jacket and some other 2D ad-ons. It also has quite some details to make the pants saggy as they are in the anime, and to portray that full set of hair of his, so it’s a bit trickier to assemble, definitely.
