Okami papercraft

As you have maybe guessed from the sneak peeks:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/status-update/Now-you-have-seen-all-1223719606

I was doing a huge Okami papercraft project. And now that it is finished, I can finally show you the result (:

****************************

Been replaying the game and fell in love with it all over again, the art style, the gimmicks, the fighting style, the character, I love ALL OF IT. It is simply a masterpiece of a game, and I can’t wait to see what they are going to do with the sequel they are making and that was revealed some time ago. It will probably still take a while for it to come out, so why not shorten the hype of a new Okami game with a papercraft or 2. And that’s exactly why I made it!

I really took my time making it, trying to do the unique art style justice with the 3D model, and really include all of my favorite weapons as optional add-ons, so you can choose whatever ones you prefer.

**************

The wolf papercraft itself is probably 12 cm tall and with all the options it has, all in all, 18 pages to print.

It consists of a 3D model of Amaterasu and a Shiranui skin, a 3D stand with grass a ton of simple flowers to glue on to make them stand out, and her various weapons: her basic reflector, the Solar flare, the Infinity judge, the Snarling beast, the Seven strike, the Thunder edge, and my fav, the Tsumugari.

Each of the add-on weapons has a simple white stand you can glue them on so it fits on the back, however pro-tip: I do suggest attaching the weapon on the back either with wire or magnets, so it really looks as if it is floating in the air. The weapons aren’t heavier as Amaterasu herself, so they will stand nicely on her with wire.

Really enjoying the replay of Okami HD and can’t wait for that sequel to drop in the future as well. It will probably be a game I HAVE to play on release date, because I can’t wait for it! So excited!!

I hope you love the game and the lore as much as I adore it and you assemble the papercraft as well.

Enjoy and happy crafting~

PLA Poke ball (Pokemon) built papercraft

Already posted my Origin PLA Pokemon Poke ball box papercraft template:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/PLA-Poke-ball-Pokemon-papercraft-1197241457

And now it’s time to give you some tips on how to assemble one yourself.

**********************************************************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

Since it is meant to be a simple box, the papercraft is separated in the upper and under part of the Poke ball, as well as the stand.

Both parts of the Poke ball are best made from top to bottom. Meaning you start by making the outer red shell of the ball first, and only then gluing on the middle edge part with the round buttons.

The buttons in the middle as well as the top are 3D, so best way for those is that you do those separately and glue them inside by wedging them inside the hole at the top or gluing them on the surface in the middle button.

The stand is also a simple form, that is best done by starting in the middle part, gluing on the edges, and lasty closing it at the bottom with the flat part.

And there you go. If you build it correctly, you have yourself a Poke ball box that can be opened and closed and used as a simple storage for smaller candy or something else that is lighter.

If you want to make it really sturdy however *pro-tip: You can enforce the inner part of both halves with simple wood glue and some tissues or toilet paper. - Mix 2/3 wood glue with 1/3 of water and use a brush to apply in on the inner surface of the ball (making sure not to make it too wet or too thick, so it doesn’t start to drip on the outer side of the box). Once the surface is still wet, apply ripped parts of the tissue on the glue, brush it over with the brush and glue, and do this on the whole inner surface. Once it is dry, it becomes as hard as plastic and you can use it as any normal storage box.

Lunlun (VTuber) built papercraft

Already released the template of this virtual cutie:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Lunlun-VTuber-papercraft-1097126281

and now you can make the virtual an actual DIY self-made template figurine by following these assembly steps as well (:

********************

Best way to assemble is it to first make the 2 ears first. Both ears are made with a few vertical stripes and a 2D piece with the bumps for the ears. So, the easiest way is to take the front piece of the ear that is glued on the 2D piece and make your way to the back, where you close the ear with the back piece of the 2D bumps.

Set that aside and start making the face and the top part of the head, glue on the ears at the right spots and make the whole head till the neck part.

Next, make the 2 arms and 2 legs separately and start making the top torso and glue that inside the neck and then add the arms. Glue together the torso till the 2 legs come in, and glue those inside the body in the end (the papercraft doesn’t need extra weight to hold it upwards and make it stand, but be sure to glue the 2D tail in the back so it touches the ground along with the 2 legs, so the tail can support the body in the back and make it stand).

Next, we have a lot of 2D 2-sided parts you make and glue on the body and lastly, the 3D bell. The bell is quite tricky and small to make, since I wanted it to look exactly like the vTuber itself has, so take time doing that one, or if it’s too complicated to make, you can also leave it out and just make the bow around its neck to make it look cute.

Glue those 2D parts on the flat surface of the 3D craft and make sure, as said, the tail touches the ground in the back, so the figure has support to stand on in the end. And that’s about it.

Akane (Ranma 1/2) built papercraft

Already posted my Akane papercraft template:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Akane-Ranma-1-2-papercraft-1147429769

And now it’s time to give you some pro-tips on how to make life simpler when building her yourself. Let’s go.

**********************************************************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

With any of my papercrafts, you can divide the assembly into separate parts: the head with the hair, the 2 arms, the upper torso with the sleeves and dress, the schoolbag, and the legs with the shoes.

If we start with the head, you assemble the face and neck first. Then you glue on the front hair, and lastly close it with the back hair. After this, you can glue on the 2D ears. (*Note that I did the build preview without the additional hair in the back and the lid, to make the build faster. The template includes parts to close the head neatly.)

Next, you can separately build the 2 arms, with either the 2D or 3D hands (*Note that I did the preview pics with the 2D version of the hands). When you got those, set them aside and start gluing together the 2 sleeves first separately, then the upper torso. When you have the upper torso, glue the sleeves inside those and make the rest of the torso and dress. Only when you have this done and the torso glued together with the head, only then press the pre-made hands inside to glue them on the right angle inside the sleeves. And the torso is done.

And lastly, the legs. You do this part by assembling the legs from bottom to top and finish with the buttocks part. This means, build the shoes first, glue the leg from there upwards till you come to the butt. If you want her to stand nicely, best put some weights inside the legs before gluing it together.

All that is left is to do is to glue these parts now together. Glue the legs’ part inside the dress, making sure to glue them at the right angle, so the figure can stand comfortably. Glue together the simple schoolbag and put or glue in in her hands… And it's finished.

*Note: The papercraft preview is made with 2D hands. The files for printing-out have both the 2D and 3D hand versions, so you can choose which ones to make.

Ryoga Pii-chan (Ranma 1/2) built papercraft

Already posted my Ryoga papercraft template:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Ryoga-Ranma-1-2-papercraft-1158260105

And now it’s time to give you some pro-tips on how to make life simpler when building the smaller pig version of him. Let’s go.

**********************************************************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

The really simple, small papercraft of Pii-chan is best built from top to bottom.

You start by making the 2 ears, inner and outer side, and gluing both sides together. The you join them together with the top head part and build the whole head around it.

The snout you best build separately, and only when the whole head is done, you can press it inside the hole with glue to make it fit better.

Next, you build the 4 legs and the 2D tail separately. Start gluing the neck part on the head, then add the front 2 feet, build the belly, then glue the other 2 back legs inside the body, and lastly close it with the back butt part, the only part with no flaps, to close it.

Glue on the tail and the scarf, and Pii-chan is done (:

*Note: The papercraft preview is Pii-chan only. The file for Ryoga includes both human and pig versions, but the preview is only the cute little back pig (;

Mega Dragonite (Pokemon) papercraft

As some of you maybe saw, we had a “Pokemon Presents” yesterday, and people were mostly excited about the new Mega Pokemon reveal they did! And I really love the design, because I LOVE anything to do with wings, flying, birds, feathers, you name it. So how could I NOT make this new Mega evolution form into a papercraft XD O present you: Mega Dragonite (as my papercraft version of it)! – made from 0 in less than 24 hours after the official release of the design XD

**************

The papercraft is unfolded to 24 cm and has 6 pages to print. It consists of a 3D modeled Mega Dragonite, with simple 3D base wings on his head, and additional flat, 2D 2-sided wings on the head and its back. It also has a simple stand for the body, the tip of the tail touches the ground, so it is placed on the stand and looks like it flies. I would actually suggest to put it on strings/wires and hang it from a ceiling to make it look original, you probably need 2 strings, 1 for the head and 1 for the tail to hold it in place.

*Note that I did the 3D model based off the screenshots and official artwork of the release, so the model, especially the wings since I can’t see them from all angles, are going to be different in the released game. So, the design varies from the actual official Pokemon design.

Ranger Kate (Pokemon) built papercraft

Already posted my modernized Ranger Kate papercraft template:

https://www.deviantart.com/antyyy/art/Ranger-Kate-Pokemon-papercraft-1173156576

And now it’s time to give you some pro-tips on how assemble her the easiest way. Let’s go.

**********************************************************

ASSEMBLY TIPS:

With any of my papercrafts, you can divide the assembly into separate parts: the head with the front bangs, the 2 hair buns, the 2 arms, the upper torso, the jacket, the shorts, the styler, and the bottom with the legs and shoes.

If we start with the head, you assemble the face and neck first. Then you glue on the front hair, and lastly close it with the back hair. You can the make the 2 3D tail buns separately, and slide them with glue attached on the flaps inside the 2 holes to fit them on the head. If you build them nice and tight, they fit in perfectly and leave no gap or air.

Next, you can separately build the 2 arms with the hands, with either the 2D or 3D hands (note that I did the preview pics with the 2D version of the hands). When you got those, set them aside and start gluing together the upper torso. When you have the upper torso, set that also aside and make the jacket. When you have these parts, firstly glue the torso into the neck first, and then glue the jacket on the torso. Only when you have this done and the torso is glued together with the jacket, only then press the pre-made arms with the hands inside the jacket sleeves at the right angle. And the torso is done.

Next step, make the shorts part separately and glue it inside the belt section of the torso.

Next, legs. You do this part by assembling the legs from bottom to top and finish with the buttocks part. This means, build the shoes first, glue the leg from there upwards till you come to the butt and glue these inside the 2 holes of the shorts at the right angle, so it can stand. *Pro-tip: If you want her to stand nicely, best put some weights inside the shoes before closing it together.

All that is left is to do is to glue the 3D parts of the styler together, glue it on her hand, and it's finished.

*Note: The papercraft preview is made with 2D hands. The files for printing-out have both the 2D and 3D hand versions, so you can choose which ones to make.

Sailor Saturn (Sailor Moon) papercraft

All the way back in 2014-2015 I released my first Sailor Moon papercrafts. Since my skills kept developing, these older designs weren’t up to par with my current work, so I removed them altogether. But ever since I did, I wanted to make new ones. And it took all the way to now to make them in a way to reflect my personal papercraft journey and how far I have come with my skills, and doing the franchise justice. I finally took the time to completely remake those ones and make a whole new shiny and fresh batch of Sailor Senshi from 0. So, here they are.

****************************

This is the papercraft of Eternal Sailor Saturn, complete with all of the original details and parts from the anime/movie.

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 25 cm (21 cm without her glaive) and has 5 pages to print.

It includes a base 3D model of Hotaru, with 2D hair and an optional hair lid for the back, a 2-layered 2D skirt, smaller 2D accessories, optional 2D or 3D sleeves, optional 2D or 3D cuffs, optional 2D or 3D hands, her optional 2D or 3D silence glaive, and a 3D stand with her symbol.

It is also better to fill out the legs with additional weights, so she can stand better (or optionally glue in magnets inside the boots and on the inner side of the stand), because of the high heel.

*Some of the pieces are fiddly and smaller, such as the boots and the hands, so I would not recommend it to people with no experience in human papercraft assemblies.

**************

All of the Eternal Sailor Senshin are relative in height, taking into account their size in the anime, so all of the 10 released Sailor Moon papercraft fit together in size.

Dog? (Ame to Kimi to) papercraft

No, this isn’t a tanuki, no racoons here. This is a dog. Yes, a dog (* ̄▽ ̄)b At least accoording to the owner Fuji who found this cute little “puppy” in a cardboard box on the street and took it home.

This is a really cute, slow-pace slice-of-life anime called “Ame to Kimi to” or “With you and the rain” that is airing this July and I completely fell in love with this fat cheeky doggy and had to make a papercraft of it so I can share the iyashikei good vibes with all of you.

*******************

The papercraft itself is unfolded to 17 cm tall and has 5 pages to print. It consists of a basic, simple 3D model of a tanuki, with a 2D 2-sided leaf for its head. No real super small parts, pretty straightforward to make. The somewhat smaller parts would be the paws, ears and the snout, and since it sits and it round and fat, it doesn’t need any additional weights to stand nicely as well.

**************************************

*******************

I hope you enjoy the slow-pace cute anime this season as much as I'll do (:

You NEED to watch a really cute iyashikei anime from time to time to get your head out of the sh*t happening around you, and this adorable little anime (or manga, since it’s based on a graphic novel) is perfect for this! Go give it a watch and thank me later d:

Slowpoke Poke ball (Pokemon) papercraft

Decided to do a whole bunch of different life-size box Poke ball designs and I made a LOT, since I had so much fun making them XD so from now on, you’ll get to probably see at least 1-2 Poke ball papercrafts posted on my site for a long, long time.

They range from the normal in-game designs, to exclusive Pokemon designs I made up as OC’s. They are all relative in height, about 11 cm (not including the stand and the ears and accessories, if they have any), so they all fit together as a bunch. I made them as life-size Pokemon-themed boxes, since they can open and close like a box with a lid and they all have optional double-sided print pages for a colored inner side, so the box looks neater when built. The 2 buttons in the front are separate 3D parts glued on the front. They also all have optional stands, so you can place them inside and they don’t roll away.

*Note that all of them are more challenging to make, are more detailed and have smaller or thinner parts, so I do not recommend any of them to beginners. I think these are best suited for intermediate and experienced papercrafters, but who am I to say what you can and cannot do (;

**************

This is the OC Slowpoke Poke ball design papercraft box. It is unfolded to 17 cm (12 cm of the actual Poke ball height) and has 4 pages to print out (all 4 of them being double-sided). It comes with the normal and Galar skin, as seen in the preview.

The preview picture shows the unfolded Poke ball template that stands apart a bit, so it is easier to assemble with the inner part shown, but you can also see the closed preview and how it looks, just so you know how it looks closed.
